Buenos Aires, Barcelona or Medellin?

Buenos Aires, Barcelona or Medellin?

Looking for some advice here. I'm planning a two week solo trip this coming winter and would like some advice on where to go. I've boiled it down to three destinations - Buenos Aires, Barcelona and Medellin.

The reason it's those three is because since this is my first time traveling solo, I want to make my safety a top priority and my thought process is that if I go somewhere where I speak the language, it would really help identifying potentially precarious situations.

I'm 29 and Pakistani and speak very good Spanish (not completely fluent, but definitely conversational). I really want to see South America since I've never been but I keep reading everywhere that game is particularly difficult in Buenos Aires but regardless, the city still has its allure.

Medellin is an obvious choice for anyone looking to pop their South America cherry.

And Spain, mainly because they got some smoking hot women, great historical sites and I'm a huge FC Barca fan and would love to see Messi at Camp Nou.

Keep in mind that even though I'm phrasing this as if my entire trip will be in the mentioned cities, I'm just listing them as they will primary destination points. Of course, I would plan to visit other parts of the respective countries.

I know that many on this forum have been to either these cities, but I need advice based on a solo traveler's experience. I've never traveled completely solo, but I'm pretty sure that it really changes the dynamics of everything travel-related, especially game!

Looking forward to your guys' advice! Thanks!

Medellin girls blow off girls of Barcelona or Buenos Aires, Barcelona has a lot of foreigners though.

Medellin would be my first option, but if you have time and money check the 3 of them

Do one trip in Barcelona. Then your next trip visit both Medellin and BA

Barcelona is not really good in winter due to lack of tourists and the night life dies out considerably.

Buenos Aires also sucks in January, btw. Too many people out of town due to summer vacations.

So it kind of comes down to the time of the year you are going.

I probably should’ve mentioned my budget. I do well financially (6 figures), so I can spend however much is necessary, but I’m shooting for a total spend of around $5K. I figured that’d be more than enough for a solo trip in South America or even Spain.

Honestly, Barcelona wasn't a favorite of mine during the high season, I'm sure it's less impressive in January. The local women are often potato-shaped with blue hair and piercings.

Andalucia has much better quality and is friendlier. Seville is warm all winter. Granada has a huge university plus skiing just outside the city. Might give this consideration.

Can't speak of Barcelona, never been.

But if you want safety go to BA. If you want some of the hottest woman in the world, go to Medellin.

One thing to keep in mind from a solo traveling aspect is that you are going to get girls out on dates 10x easier in Medellin than the other two combined. If you want to kill 2 birds with one stone and go on dates to see the city and have company Medellin is the place to do it. The other two cities you'll spend all of your time just trying to game girls to get them out on dates. Girls aside all three cities are great.

I would definitely think this is the case if you are targeting locals. But do you think this would still be the case if you are targeting tourists?

Bro if you are from Pakistan and have very strong features (e.g. you can't pass for anything else) I would avoid Barcelona as the plague unless you only want to game tourists.

There are not many tourists compared to locals and tourists are much harder to get out on dates, there are usually there traveling with friends/family. Expats are a different story, but then again not nearly as many. Either way the market in both of those places is going to be much harder overall.

I've heard the same thing from others before as well. I'm not a 'typical' looking Paki. With the exception of an aquiline nose and above average hairy chest, I don't have any strong 'Paki' features. Not to mention, I was born and raised in NYC so I have that style and I'm quite successful. I've gotten confused for almost every other ethnicity in the past except for maybe black and Asian. I'm not worried about gaming being difficult due to any sort of discrimination, but then again I might be surprised. Not everywhere are people as open and accepting as NYC...

It sounds from your posts like you havent spent a lot of time outside of the US, remember Europe and in particular Mediterranean countries are not as racially open as the states.

Just play strong the American card, if you don't dress like the typical Pakistani (e.g. shitty) you are already miles ahead.

Advantage of South America is you can hit the beach in January.

If you go to Buenos Aires look into staying in Palermo Soho. Also, Punte Del Este in Uruguay has beautiful beaches and is a short trip via plane or a day by boat/bus.

You're right on the money. My travel is limited to a whole bunch within the states, Canada (specifically Montreal) and the Caribbean a bunch of times. Never been to Europe or South America. But my brothers and a couple of my brown friends have been to Europe, South America and/or Asia many times and always had good things to report in terms of gaming the locals.

How will it be easier in Medellin? Its full of sex tourists (not saying he's one) but just wondering why you think Medellin is easier.

Because I've been to all 3 cities and while I spent far less time in Medellin I had much better results than the other two combined. If you do some research on previous threads you will see that Argentina and Spain are among the hardest places while Colombia is the exact opposite. This map isn't perfect or 100% accurate but for anyone not wanting to do the research or travel there to find out this will give you a good bang for your buck with 30 seconds of research:
