Any tips for Miami's Art Basel in December

after hotel and flight I have a budget of about $3000-4000. Obviously I don't wanna blow through all that dough if I don't have to.

I lived in Miami for a year 10 years ago and went to Miami about a year and a half ago for a fellas trip. Smashed 4 chicks in 3 days and fingered 2 others so I'm not a newbie to the game but I like to have every competitive advantage possible and would appreciate any tips Art Basel veterans can provide

I did art basel several years ago. I was there for the art. I don’t think it’s worth it for game.

Actually I don’t think it’s really worth it for the art either unless you’re in that profession/scene. Or maybe there to outfit a new home or office.

Even then, there are enough galleries and art shows around the world not to make the special trip. I more enjoyed some of the native art shows during a summer spent in Sante Fe.

That said, Art Basel and the simultaneous shows do have world class contemporary art. Just be realistic.

It’s an older, intellectual crowd. I saw a pair of young girls at one of the parties who were obviously trying to find rich guys. I think one was a tranny.

I didn’t go to any of the beach parties which are a bit more clubby and fun. I talked with a few attractive girls who mentioned they’d be going. Seemed like an all around competitive and pretentious environment to be rolling solo.

I assume there are lots of private insuite parties. That’s really where it’s at. Being a hot young girl would be enough to get invites.

Not sure how a guy would get invited unless you know the host or tag along with a group. Even then I’m not sure you’d receive a warm welcome. Most of the art scene guys are 50+ and would probably be annoyed by your presence.

Unless you’re really into art I’d say skip it. Spend your money and time on a trip to South America. You could ball out there for a few months on that much.

Thanks, but I've already bought the hotel and plane ticket at this point. Im not sure how much the scene varies from a regular fall or winter weekend but im anxious to find out. The guys im rolling with are 45, 43 and me at 39. We are all veterans in the game so a slightly older crowd doesn't concern me, it just means more opportunity to out shine my competition. All of us are in shape, tall and successful with one of us even owning a Ferrari. It should make for some good drug induced fun the way I see it

Can't help you with Art Basel, but if you want to crack the art scene check out the auctions in November and May at Sotheby's and Christie's in New York. Tickets used to be free, although the catalogs cost about a hundred bucks. When I lived in New York City, I used to take dates to them. The people watching is on another level. I sat next to Carl Icahn when he sold a Monet.

I lived in Miami 18 years and Art Basel was a good event to attend, I suggest you go to the art parties so there can be more social interactions then just browsing trough arts. If you enjoy arts it's fun to see all the "crazy pieces people call arts", and there are a lot of hot chicks that don' t have a clue of what they are looking at and you can pretend to be an expert telling them some mambo jumbo...
