Dance classes

Posted this in the forum lounge but it might be useful to some of you younger cats in here:

Listen up bros.

Took mrs SP to ballroom dancing classes tonight. We’re starting as beginners and turns out Friday nights is Latin style dances.

It’s pretty red pill so far, man leads, woman follows, you should have seen her eyes light up as I spun her about and held her right.

Mrs SP moves pretty good too being a Latin type herself. The other Swiss chicks and dudes there were a bit stiff.

I see how some of you are frustrated with online and bar/club game.

Try something different. At this class there was a surplus of women, this in a sleepy Swiss town. It’s got to be worth trying in big cities.

Report back for the good of the forum.

Fair warning there's not usually a surplus of women in these classes in my experience in Australia.

In my (EU) country Latin dancing classes typically have more women.

In my school in particular, intermediate/advanced men can attend beginners' classes for free (because most beginners' classes don't have enough men).

I think Latin dancing is a great way to meet women and a fantastic hobby for a man.

There are quite a few rvf members who hunt exclusively in dance venues but we stopped posting because a lot of the same reasons people stop posting datasheet.

That and dance became increasingly irritating with the horrible attitudes of girls who think they are fucking princesses at dance. Keep in mind dance classes are not the same as the dance clubs. Once you learn how to dance you leave the classes and go to clubs and thats where the sausage fest begins

One more note - Colleges frequently offer dance classes in the US. In my era, the ratios were 10 -1 and women would run to you to avoid being paired up with another woman. Even if you're recently graduated, check out Continuing Ed programs at local colleges that let non students take classes for cash. To avoid being the "non college" guy in the environment, say you're going for your masters (in addition to your Real World career). It just makes you sound ambitious. and it's a huge factor in putting you into the same world as the students where the top of the hierarchy is a senior. Now you're more senior than the Senior. I can't stress how important this is, because co-eds are in a shallow hierachical system, and simply don't know how to compute the value of men outside that system.

One good application were schools that allowed no charges if you dropped in the first 2 weeks. Those first few weeks of the fall semester are incredibly key because nobody knows anybody, and they'll bond with the first person that talks to them confidently and can show them a good time. Just being able to buy beer will put you at a big advantage socially. This is a demographics you're otherwise completely shut out of if you're limited to 21+ bars.

Also, don't forget to be "a man among boys" the first few weeks at the college gym too (As a student you have access to all student facilities.

What surprised me the most at this initial class was that 80% of the women there couldn’t really move very well. Very stiff, no coordination. Same for all the guys. Interesting for me as part of my work involves movement analysis. Maybe they’ll loosen up.

Of course mrs sp moves well.

The key to gaming girls in dance classes is to make the dance class as an approach to get the numbers and game them outside. I would say that I more or less dance intermediate level, so I will go to the beginners class sometimes to "help" and there I will focus on talking to the girls while dancing and by not being the worst dancer it is okay to speak and dance at the same time to eventually get a number or to take a drink after the dance class. Gaming in dance clubs/ higher levles would be more difficult as some guy said up there the girls think they are dancing princess and there are guys that are fucking masters. I will say I dance for fun and as an opening, but I will not say my dance is my game, maybe more like a kind of openner. The good think of doing this is that there aren't many guys in the beginners classes which makes it easy.

In my experience dancing salsa in America, the ratios in dance class are rarely that good.

The bigger problem then the absoulte ratio seems to be the age difference.

^Take dance classes on college campuses if you want younger chicks.

Also agree with sentiment of sticking to beginner dance classes. Don’t be the worst lead, be able to hold a conversation (a lot of guys that take dance classes are socially inept), and go for the meetup outside of class.

Girls should be complimenting you on how good you are. Often times all you have to do is stay on beat...

Go up to intermediate and beyond if you have the time, money, and interest in the dance style. Don’t do it for the chicks, it really ain’t worth the squeeze. You’ll have the best luck with girls who are beginners.

Edit: In my experience, dance classes are sausage fests. But most guys have terrible social skills you don’t really have to worry about them.

BasketBounce nailed it. It can't be a sausage fest if you're the only real man in the room.

This is a good observation and I'm always surprised that more guys don't see how obvious this can be for a lot of areas.

I also wrote a data sheet that mentions this for older guys who want to meet college girls:

I flirted with the idea of finding women at dance classes.

But in my experience, I didn't think it was worth it. I'd much rather just focus on the dance and learning it rather than focusing my attention on a few women.

Maybe that's just me though.

More women come to dancing classes at the beginning >>> but tend to flake afterwards
Men are less but tend to try it till the end >>> they have to, since men attractiveness is correlated to dancing level

If you already have decent dancing level, I strongly advice to TEACH it to newbies. That will raise the status attractiveness and bring access to women.

I run a project as a salsa/bachata instructor in the last 3 months and got 3 girls on my belt... this has been more effective than my daygame/nightgame efforts in Vienna.

Good thread. I've taken 5 beginner Latin dance lessons during the past few months. The women are hit and miss, but I actually go to learn to dance so I don't care. My first few classes were tough because I was tripping over my own feet and was awkward moving the girl around the dance floor. I still had fun and would make comments like, "You can tell I'm a pro at this right?" which had girls laughing.

I've gotten better the past couple of classes and noticed more IOIs and girls asking me to dance during the dance partner swaps. Will report back here as my skills improve.

If you are from a culture with ethnic dances or folk dances, this can be a good source. Salsa sounds awesome but honestly is pretty limited to a very niche group, I kind of prefer bachata because of the hypersexual grinding and it just seems to be applicable to more music. I've been wanting to find a place in LA that teaches old school funk/soul/disco hustle type moves, similar to The Get Down kind of stuff. Something that's pretty unique, always entertaining and can be adjusted a little for modern music and shows you've got rhythm.

My observations on dance class game. Dance classes are a great way to meet women, especially if want to learn a new skill like dancing, which in my opinion every man should. I have taken classes in salsa, bachata, and others in America, SA, Mexico, and Europe. Both are very popular all over the world. Salsa is more fun for me but harder for the girl and requires to be danced to salsa music which isn't my favorite music to listen to. Bachata on the other hand can be danced to almost any music that is slow and rhythmic. Bachata is also easier for the woman. American classes can have good ratios men to women and I agree if you live in a smaller town you can have a bunch of old ladies as dance partners. Contrast that to Europe where ratios are always great, ages are lower, and BMI index is way lower. In Europe there is a "dance family" mentality in the schools so you have to be careful not to "shit where you sleep", similar to gaming at work. However there is a kind of dance game that I enjoy. If I meet a woman I like, it is easy to lead her into the dance conversation. Next she finds out that I dance which leads into setting up a date at my apartment for me teach her how to dance either salsa or bachata. I add value to her world, I have a practice partner, and one thing leads to another. Its a win/win. If you want to try powerful but difficult niche dance it would be Tango. Tango has magical properties so proceed at your own risk.

I agree that being exotic is a plus. Since I am from Peru, that surely adds to my status attractiveness.

However, you can still profit from game if you teach others. The fact of being the leader of a group will fall into a "social circle game", which also gives results.

What type of class should I learn?

New to dancing, but moving soon and looking to broaden my horizon, so to speak.
I'm more a rocker than anything else, but maybe someone has some suggestions. I'm as green to dancing as I am to this forum.

A few tips for beginners:

- Start with salsa: most venues will have it
- Take only one course at a time
- Ignore the beta male students: emulate the masculine teacher.
- Start with a dancing school. Online videos are useful only if you have already basics
- Don't game actively during classes. See it more as a new friend's circle.
- Your game will be more at parties (beginners), and later on as instructor for other newbies (teacher game)

Learning to properly LEAD when dancing was the most beneficial thing about my 1 semester Social Swing class.

Oh, the way women melt when you firmly, but gently direct them on the dance floor. It is like you are teaching a woman to make love with your clothes on. And believe me, women predict how you will be as a lover by the way you dance closely with them.

Get good at teaching a woman to follow your lead, and you can make any social dance an opportunity for kino. Just freelance the steps.
