Looking for a good wingman to travel with me - Offering salary + travel expenses cove

So since you know him so well, why don't you take him up on his offer?

That applies to the other guys who can vouch for him, why does he need to make a post.

Thailand is like the number one travel destination in the world, so it should be easy to make new friends. When I travel solo i always make friends.

Maybe he should work on his personality and save some money.

7 day ban for Going Strong for trying to start a rumor that OP is a criminal drug pusher after he was repped by another trusted member.

The ultimate problem with OPs job requirements is that if a man possessed what he wanted, he would already have a high-level lifestyle and likely not need this type of job in the first place. Most celebrities have a crew of staff that can fulfill all the roles he would like. It's really 4 jobs in one (bodyguard / planner / cool trusted friend / girl scouter).

Most rich people who have an abundance of money use their money to buy convenience and a better life. It has nothing to do with not having a personality. Anyone who has more of an abundance of money than they have time understands this.

This is 100% spot on and why I previously said that he needs a personal assistant.

I have worked for and hung out with celebrities in the past. What they have is a road manager (glorified personal assistant) whos job would be to line everything up in each city for them and manage the other staff involved in making this persons life easier/better. If they went out to a club everything would already be set up for them and they would just show up and there is a table with hot girls and alcohol waiting for them without having to lift a finger.

OP is not Vinny. I know Vinny and OP in real life. They are not the same dude. He's also not Dragan. (The Dragan I met and ousted in Belgrade as a know-it all, low-value, young, poor, silly, dumbass.)

As I said before, OP is not a homo in any way. He's a normal dude with a lot of the same beliefs we have on this forum and some that differ like anyone else here.

To address the "drug smuggling" assertion he's not a guy who would try and fuck you by giving you drugs or something fucked up like that. He's super generous and kind to everyone we came across from waiters and personal assistants to the security guys I hired to help me look after him. He paid all my expenses and flights to and from and I came out on top with good money and a great experience.

While OP and I have different personalities that didn't mesh well I can tell you he's a good dude who is super into zen stuff like yoga and meditation. I'm not. I'm a loud, high-energy dude who's from a loudmouthed city and is former infantry. I'm not the type of dude who needs to be working for someone in this capacity (or maybe at all.) I'm used to working for myself or in positions where I get let loose to either make money for the person I'm working for or run a team without much guidance.

In hindsight I probably would have been better just managing a security team instead of taking on a whole range of responsibilities and wearing too many hats. I offered to do a lot more than one man could handle and it became stressful and annoying for me. OP did everything he could to make it work but it just wasn't a good fit due to our different styles so we parted ways. This was a good decision and showed a lot of maturity on both sides and wasn't because OP was a bad guy or a bad boss.

I'd say a good man to help him would be someone who is a calm, super chill surfer type personality. Finding a security professional who can also be all the other stuff OP needs is unlikely. OP isn't that demanding except when it comes to being a chill, calm dude who never gets loud or fast-talking like I tend to be. I like to put myself into stressful situations and test myself. I believe growth comes from stress and OP likes to take it easy and relax and enjoy himself. He's his own man and can choose how to go about his like like any other man. We're just different in out styles and methods.

OP is opinionated and likes to do things his way. It would be best to have someone who can "go with the flow" even if he disagrees with the methods used or the goals in mind. I'm also opinionated and have no problem saying "This isn't going to work." if that's what I'm thinking. I won't take someone's money if I think I can't get the job done no matter how much someone is paying me.

OP and I are still friends and might try to work together again in the future but for now we're both going on with our own plans and goals. Many of the guys here know me and how I operate and I wouldn't say any of this unless I meant it.

If you're on here fighting with OP about his way of doing things that's fine and you shouldn't take the job. For some guys this is a great opportunity. For me I'm going to continue to live, talk, and act however I want and am not going to change my personality or management style for any person or job. If you fit the bill of chill, easy-going, zendude that can get along with anyone while being calm and willing to try doing things someone else's way you'll love this job. If you're a different guy with lots of personality, boisterousness, and want to run things your way you'll feel like you should be doing something else.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Yeah I feel this is accurate and reflects my personality and the type of personality that would be helpful to me-- I am sensitive to stress / stressful situations especially with the significant yoga/meditation training I've been doing recently, so I need someone with calm chill vibes - that is really important to me.

Thank you again for the feedback PainPositive, was a pleasure hanging out with you.

And yeah I'm open it to being a road manager type of role or all-in-one role as mentioned above, I haven't been seeking this role for much time yet which is I haven't found it yet, but I'm sure I will soon. Thank you guys for feedback, good food for thought.

I actually thought about something a bit similar for lower cash but I wouldn't call it a wing man.
Since I like to party and drink I would want to have a guy which will be the driver/body guard and keep me out of trouble. on top of this if he can attract girls or even I can send him to bring a girl to the table and so on, its a plus.

Another way of doing so is not to describe it as a job, just meet a local guy which cant afford this lifestyle and pay for him all evening expenses, in many countries such person would be delighted and will be your best night buddy for this, help you and keep you out of trouble.

Another thing to consider is that to a local that sort of money is big so they'll go the extra mile but to a westerner, it could be loose change and they'd need to consider opportunity cost.

Either way, if they're a westerner already going to SEA for a holiday, this could be a perfect match. Definitely a 2-way arrangement unlike what some people here think.

I think the best person to fit your bill would be a backpacker who's already on the road, open minded, into lifting weights etc and dreading going back home. It's a bit of an ask to get somebody to quit their job and location independent types that you'll find on here won't have their heart in it and won't be so reliable whereas this would be a dream gig for someone young, hungry and traveling who has their head screwed on and they'd give you their all [Image: smile.gif]

Is this an official on the books job with tax reporting?

I was in a wealthy friends entourage for a short spell. Huge perks like presidential suites and club tables. Didn’t really like hitting clubs and hanging around resorts all the time. Plus everything was on his schedule which got old quick. It was probably the lack of adventure that really turned me off though.

Nice to see OP was not a troll now that he's been vouched for! However OP, you still should've introduced yourself, and let us know that you know a couple of members from here! Going Strong was wrong for directly attacking you in the manner he did... but he was right about this. If you have the FU Money I think you do... then I imagine one of the few remaining ways to get a kick out of life is by achieving things totally by yourself... but sometime... sometimes... it's easier AND better to get help when you need it!

It's kind of sad how many people on here think OP's situation is unrealistic and dismiss him on those grounds alone. I don't claim to be on his level in terms of finances and fitness but I will say that I have a bunch of friends who are. This thread is exactly the kind of thing that at least 3 of them might do too. Once guys start rolling in the mid 7 or low 8 figures, they get crazy ideas like that... I've seen this a few times among close friends.

If your first instant reaction to this thread was "he's guaranteed to be a troll cause nobody could actually be this kind of a badass in real life", you need to think bigger.

Personally, I would hire 2 cute chicks to roll with me everywhere, if I could afford to. It's next-level shit.

You don't need game or anything if you do this. Girls just gravitate towards you. I am writing a pick-up book and there will be a chapter in it about this.

This is probably a great opportunity for one of the younger members of the board, one who has just finished university or is in between jobs.

You guys must not have ever hired someone before if you think he can hire someone on vacation or a backpacker. Backpackers are among the laziest most entitled people with the lowest goals in the world. Since op hasn't had any luck yet he is best off using someone who specializes in recruiting to find him the perfect candidate. I dated a girl in the past who did it and they just base it on a percentage of the persons salary. I have a cripple friend who just hired the same kind of person but more so to help his every day life and his business and he had so many amazing qualified candidates that he ended up hiring two.

I am actually in a sort of similar situation to OP. I am not hiring anyone, but I plan to write a thread about Tenerife, where I live, and invite someone to be my roommate and wing here. This seems like a good place to find like-minded souls to team up with. I can fully understand his choice and strategy, and would probably do something similar if I could afford it.

If all else fails, I think OP should simply contact some PUA gurus. A decent one will already have many of the skills OP requires, and those guys love to travel, etc.

This seems like an excellent opportunity for a location independent guy who really wants to crush it.

A real high energy guy could work on his, say, online business while staying flexible enough with his schedule to organize events for you + run errands + meet women.

During down time, you can both meditate together + chill/talk shop & learn from each other + get in some good work outs or go for open ocean swims, G Manifesto style; Thailand has some incredible beaches.

Seems like a great opportunity for someone who can stay flexible and wear many hats. Someone willing to learn and build more connections. Kind of like an apprenticeship, but with more partying.

Coming from probably the most penny-pinching guy on this forum, this post made me have a good laugh.

OP - why not buy the wingman services a la carte instead of hiring someone and you don't mesh.

Use showaround.com to find a Wing and pay by the hour like $10- $15...if somebody does not work out move on to the next person.

OP is essentially saying he will pay someone a few thousand dollars a month (equivalent to roughly $40,000/year) to be his friend. This can't be real. Either this is a scam/troll post or the saddest thing I've ever read.

^Yeah, that would be insane. I'm thinking it's more of personal assistant + wing + if they could be friends too / be like minded then all the better. Hence using this forum.

I think OP deserves the benefit of the doubt since he's been vetted by PainPositive & the "paying $2-3 thousand to be my friend" angle is too retarded to consider.

OP, consider clarifying what you're looking for in terms of the amount & type of work you'd want your wingman to do. A lot of members here would be happy to wing + party with you for free. Hell, most would insist they chip in their fair share.

If you're looking for someone closer to wing + personal assistant, it would be better for everyone if you said what skill set you're looking for.

Maybe I'm naive, but this seems like a great opportunity and I wouldn't want it to be glossed over because members think you're trying to pay $2-3k for ONLY a friend vs. someone you can become friends with but also provides you specific value beyond just partying.

OP has already answered all of this, but like half the people replying here, you're not paying attention. He listed a TON of skills beyond being friends. Indeed he listed TOO MANY of them, which is why Roosh said that he's asking to fill the roles of FOUR people, and that if anyone possessed all these skills he'd probably be a superman who already led the kind of life that OP wants to live.

In sum, reading comprehension is your friend. Try it.

My first instant reaction to this thread was "He's guaranteed to be a troll cause he only has 11 posts, 0 reps, and is offering a few thousand dollars a month plus travel expenses and accommodation if you go partying and gaming girls in Thailand with him".

I think this reaction is actually very reasonable and has nothing to do with a lack of "thinking big".

OP did not introduce himself, gave us no information regarding who he is, what he does, and most importantly on why we should believe or trust him given the circumstances.
His offer also seemed tailormade exactly for the user persona prevalent on this forum.

If the whole thing did not, in any way, sound somewhat suspicious to you, I have a bridge to sell you.

Anyway, at least now PainPositive, who is a respected member, is vouching for him, so OP appears to be credible.

There you go.

As I said I know at least three guys myself who might post a thread like this on a forum like this if they were in the mood for it, so it did not look unrealistic to me.

Rep doesn't necessarily mean much, there are guys on here with 0 rep who have traveled more and banged more than 99% of forum members, but just not been very active here.

Further, guys like OP (extroverted and physical type) might not be the kind to write thousands of posts on an internet forum.

Demanding more proof? Okay. Being somewhat skeptical? Okay.

But completely dismissing it from the get go as a guaranteed troll? That was small thinking by some.
