Hey lads!
It's that time again. The next AFL, or Australian Football League, season begins this week! As an American, I fell in love with the game of footy over the last couple of years especially with the awesome overseas viewing package that allows you to watch every game all season long for like $150. In my opinion, it is one of the best team sports going in the world today. Just check out this sweet highlight video:

And of course, there is a huge fantasy following for this game that adds another reason to catch a bunch of games. Fantasy is so entertaining with AFL as the points make sense and don't seem arbitrary. I am starting an RVF Fantasy league through SuperCoach for all that are interested. Register here League code is: 742590

Did anyone watch the 2018 AFL Grand Final today? I have to say that it was one of the best finals I've seen since the 2012 final between Sydney & Hawthorn.

I also remember the 2005 & 2006 finals between Sydney and West Coast where both finals were won by 1 point. Sydney won in 2005 & West Coast won in 2006.

Collingwood led for 95% of the game but West Coast stepped up where it mattered. That Rioli shank goal during the 1st quarter & the sequence that lead to West Coast's winning goal were the key moments.

ESPN used to show a lot of Australian rules football back in the 1980's. It is a cool game. It's one of the few games in which no lead is ever safe. You can catch up very quickly.

Fuck Collingwood, I'll back any team that goes against them.

Only thing against the current game is the male pattern baldness on show.

Its called Gay F.L in Sydney and Brisbane who follow Rugby League.And they call the Rugby codes football..so yeah soccer is Football..It's certainly better than the NFL snooze fest

Good Grand final this year.There could of been an American hero if Cox kicked one in the last 5 mins.I just watch the GF and couldn't give a fuck most of the year.
AFL is one of the main reasons Melbourne is such a hell hole for men.Imagine NFL or EPL having 10 teams in your city of 4 million..imagine where all the good pussy will go.

@Green-On-Go

I live in Melbourne.
I never thought of it like that. Interesting.
Add the VFL footballers (who are physically very fit) with even local club level guys. Girls 7/10 and above really have a liking for those athletic types
