Africa, the last mystery.
Even on this forum, Data Sheets on many countries are still rare or sometimes contraindicating. Some places never have been discussed so far and comparing African countries with each other is difficult. More reliable information is what is needed.
Therefore, I want to start a community project and fill the blank spots. At least on a macrolevel. The following spreadsheet shall be the heart of this effort.
>> Africa - RVF Community Project <<
This Community Project has the target to make African countries comparable on the macrolevel. Of course, the situation in the respective countries can vary from province to province significantly. To simplify the process and make the various countries comparable, we will only focus on a country's tier-1 cities. For example when talking about South Africa, we include both Cape Town and Johannesburg in our ratings. In Algeria, we just talk about Algiers.
As you can see from the spreadsheet, countries are rated in 6 categories. The final value is calculated as an average of all inputs. Rating goes 1 to 5, with 1 being worst and 5 best.
1.) Visited at least 2 African countries
2.) A minimum stay of 2 weeks per country
3.) Data not older than 4 years
I'm looking forward for a lot of participation.
