Newly unearthed reports from socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s past show that the progressive political candidate had very different views on taxes when she used to run a business.

But Ocasio-Cortez appeared to have a different outlook on capitalism and taxes in 2012 when she was running a business of her own, Brook Avenue Press, an incorporated publishing firm for children’s books set in the Bronx. As a business owner, she came out in support of a bill that would provide tax deductions for business start-up costs, arguing that taxes directly impacted her business profits.

The DCNF also notes that Ocasio-Cortez was a member of a business organization that attracted numerous entrepreneurs and gave talks on entrepreneurship at Boston University where she praised free market enterprise.

And HRC had charisma and people connection?

She is young, non-white, a Democrat, a socialist and is all for empowering ethnic groups/blocs. I dare say she could unite a significant number of people if the liberal lunatics stopped doing what they're doing at the moment and focus on the prize ahead by fooling the public.

Hell they have so many self-hating white people on their side its unbelievable and a lot may have left only because of recent goings on.

All she has to do is turn up, smile, keep her hair long and black/dark brown and learn how to debate and counter. All she has to do.

Socialism is getting traction in America. A movement thats moved by envy and resentment.

If I were The God Emperor I would make a law to confiscate socialists property and donate to the poor. Socialists love to share other people's stuff not their own. And since poor people will spend money you give them with frivolous shit (its not like their gonna buy a house), money will "evaporate" fast, changing nothing.

Socialism/Communism is a dangerous ideology. I find it scary how traction is getting not only in America but worldwide.

I agree. But part of the problem is the gap between wealthy and poor has blown up over the last few decades. The merchant class is literally robbing the country blind. Guess what, that's gonna cause resentment, whether it's justified or not. Close the gap, and I'm not talking about free handouts here, but find a way to close the gap as in not bailing out the banks or giving Lloyd Bkankfein 100 million dollar bonuses and you're gonna see support for socialism decline rapidly.

That incumbent, BTW, was inline to be speaker of the house, which would make him second in line of succession to the presidency. His family and by association he himself, did not live in the district, his kids went to school in DC, he did few memorable things that made life better for his low income, low education constituents, yet for years he held an insiders position with a lot of power and juice.

This pretty much. Crowley is the usual machine politician that plagues the boroughs of New York. Usually these types stay in power because the voters (even the low-income and minority ones who suffer the most) still keep voting for these guys because they happen to be Democrat. However, in this case enough people gave enough of a damn to vote this woman in.
