I love the hate stare from that presenter bitch Aubrey Plaza.

He could have just said, be the opposite of the woman to my right.

What I like about Pratt is he has the least star quality of any star I've seen. Seems like a dude who did well.

I'm amazed that most people couldn't recognize Chris Pratt given he's been in the biggest movies recently and in this age of social media, TMZ, 24/7 news access.

Damn looks like I'm going to go see Jurassic World. I was avoiding it cause of how shitty the trailers looked, but Chris Pratt is a diamond in the rough after that speech. Maybe he is just playing to the right, but a man who says God so gracefully in a pit of sinful Hollywood seems righteous by my boots. He earned himself a ticket.

Party pooping pro tip: Before you poop spray a good layer of air freshener on the surface of the water in the bowl. That way when you pinch your loaf it drops below the layer and a lot of the stink gets sealed under.

That was pretty damned ballsy. He basically just delivered a distilled message of the Gospel at an MTV awards show. ("You have a soul...there is a God...you should pray...you are imperfect...but are saved by grace through the Blood of Christ"). And he did that knowing his career prospects would likely take a hit. Sincere Christianity is not well-received in Hollywood, but he didn't care. Very impressive.

Even excepting all that, Christ Pratt is probably my favorite actor these days. The guy's charisma is unbelievable, he's absolutely magnetic on screen. And he just comes across as extremely genuine and likeable. He's the real deal - a genuine leading man actor. Excellent presence on screen, a relatable everyman quality, great comedic timing, and a masculine physicality that's a rare commodity these days in the age of the soy boy (I believe I read in an article that he was a former high school football player and wrestling team captain). Anyway, maybe that's why he feels confident enough to wear his Christianity on his sleeve like that - he knows he's too much of a draw at this point to be cast aside. I hope he's right.

MTV did edit his speech a bit. Here's a transcript that's a little closer to what he actually said at the show:

This being the Generation Award - they only gave me a couple of minutes so I’m gonna cut to the chase - and I’m gonna speak to you, the next generation. OK? I accept the responsibility as your elder, so listen up! This is what I call 9 Rules from Chris Pratt, Generation Award Winner:

Breathe. If you don’t, you’ll suffocate.

You have a soul, be careful with it.

Don’t be a turd. In the real world, it is illegal to slap people. Don’t take advantage of that fact. If you’re strong, be a protector; and if you’re smart, be a humble influencer. Strength and intelligence can be weapons, and do not wield them against the weak - that makes you a bully. Be bigger than that.

When giving a dog medicine, put the medicine in a little piece of hamburger - they won’t even know they’re eating medicine.

It doesn’t matter what it is – earn it. It feels good! 5 bucks earned is better than 10 bucks given to you, every time! If you feel like crap, look at your life; what do you have that you haven’t earned and do something about it. Do a good deed. Reach out to someone in pain. Be of service. It feels good and it’s good for your soul.

God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you, believe that – I do.

If you have to poop at a party but you’re embarrassed because you’re gunna stink up the bathroom, just do what I do. Lock the door. Sit down, get all the pee out first. OK? And then, once all the pee is done, poop, flush, boom! You minimize the amount of time that the poop is touching the air. Because if you poop first, it takes you longer to pee and then you’re peeing on top of it, stirring it up, the poop particles create a cloud, goes out, and then everyone in the party will know that you pooped. Just trust me, it’s science.

Learn to pray. It’s easy and it’s so good for your soul. You just close your eyes and list off people for which you are grateful and ask for protection for the people you love. You don’t ask God to win the big game or anything, you just ask for His strength and accept the outcome. Pray. Don’t be embarrassed by it. You let people see you do it. It’s good for their soul too.

Nobody is perfect. Nobody. None of us! People are going to tell you you’re perfect just the way you are. You’re not! You are imperfect, you always will be. But there is a powerful force that designed you that way and it loves you and accepts you for exactly who you are. It will forgive you for your flaws, no matter what they are. If you’re willing to accept that, you will have grace, and grace is a gift. And like the freedom that we enjoy in this country, that grace was paid for with somebody else’s blood. Do not forget it. Don’t take it for granted. It is a gift for which none of us are worthy, but do your best to earn it.

Be kind, don’t be a bully, be of service, and do not be a turd. God bless you. Please get home safely.

I knew this guy was different after seeing a firestorm over him butchering a deer in his kitchen on Instagram. He has a genuine charm that makes him somewhat immune to career-ending SJW hysteria... for now.

Most male celebrities are obviously good-looking and successful, but they follow the party line. Pratt better be pure as the driven snow in the near future, because he embodies everything leftists hate. White, straight, good-looking, enormously successful and popular, AND conservative. The sjw's are going to be out for blood. Next time Pratt visits a children's hospital as Starlord and calls a little girl "sweetie," watch out, because the sharks are circling.

Well now there's a side benefit to the post 'Me Too' era in Hollowwood.

If there's no more casting couch shenanigans / sucky, sucky.
Those Hollowood bints will indeed have to earn their keep based only on their acting abilities. Not their after-hours abilities.

What about the 300,000 child soldiers in Africa? Does God love them too or does it only work if you're a rich Hollywood actor?

Anyway, other than the religious mumbo-jumbo it was a really great speech. Good to see someone influential preaching positivity, but just wish these people would leave their political agendas at home for once.

I understand your plight here, but interjecting your own dislikes of religion for the sake of disavowing his moral character is a little too far.

In the absence of God, that tragedy should still exist.

Then tragedy is the fault of man & man alone...

That’s a fair point.

But on that same note, couldn’t you say that praising someone’s moral character simply because they dropped a few references to ones own preferred ideaogy similarly “a little too far?”

Not to hate, but I thought his speech was dumb as shit. Granted he's talking to a half retarded MTV audience but mixing a heavily watered down gospel message with giving life advice about how to take a crap at parties? The fuck outa here. No wonder American society is so infantalized when we have grown ass men as role models talking and acting and like they're teenagers.

Having said that I recall seeing Jurassic World and thought it pretty good as it took a heavy jab at "gender politics" and the image he portrayed was a strong one. One to actually imitate. Not this bs.

edit, if he was serious about giving a Gospel message he should have said the name Jesus Christ instead of half assedly pussyfooting around it.

I think he did what he could whilst treading lightly among-st the Jewllywood land mines that afford him a lifestyle that is among the top of the top in the history of mankind. I dont know that many men in his position would even have that much courage of their conviction to venture that far out on a limb.
