"Gammon" - trendy lefty buzzword...thoughts?

I've seen this phrase pop up on various twitter threads. "So much gammon" under a picture of middle-old aged white blokes supporting Sir Tommy Robinson, for example. It has even got its own wiki page.

From Urban Dictionary:
Quote:Quote:

Middle aged red-faced white male, usually ranting about Brexit, immigrants and political correctness gone mad. First seen in wild in June 2017 edition of BBC Question Time from York. Immortalized in the hashtag #wallofgammon

By SJW logic it's discriminatory because it's picking on people based on race and age, two things they can't choose. But, we all know hypocrisy knows no bounds with the left.

These men are the people who fix the internet when a 20 year old entitled brat wants to virtue signal, these men are some of our parents, these men fix the Prius' that faggots drive, these men unblock toilets, fix highways etc. Basically, as usual, the trendy left are picking on easy targets because actual problems like the vile Paki groomers and 'drill rap' knife gangs are off limits to criticise.

I was living abroad for over a year, and once I came back I liked it, but the shit that comes out of London makes me angry. I genuinely hope London separates from the rest of England, I don't give a fuck if our GDP is the same as Ethiopia, as long as there's no more whinging remainers and muslims etc, I'll live a happy life.

I'd encourage the left to use it as much as possible. It's mainly used to refer to those people they still expect to vote for them, but can no longer be bothered to even proclaim any policies for - the working class.

The quicker gammon enters the colloquial of The labour Party the better. The working class vote has shifted a further 4 points to a total of 11 to The conservative Party since GE. I've noticed an uptick in hatred from the university educated middle class directed at the white working class over the past month or two. They'll forget about those Tweets and be dredged up when they get parachuted in as MPs to working class constuunacies in ten years.

It's seems it's mainly been unleashed against UKIP London Assembly Member and solid-white male, David Kurten.

And if they dislike gammon so much, recommend they move to the countries that have banned it:

Iran
Kuwait
Libya
Maldives
Mauritania
Oman
Pakistan
Qater
Saudi Arabia

I'd seen it in a couple of memes and it made no sense. Here in Australia "gammon" is an Aboriginal word that's used a bit like "troll" or "trolling" is used on the forum.

Quote:Quote:

gammon

noun 1. deceitful nonsense.
--verb 2. to pretend; jokingly lie; to kid.
--adjective 3. false; fake; pretend: Gammon plants made of plastic.
4. lame: What a gammon idea!
--interjection 5. an exclamation of disbelief, equivalent to "As if!".
--phrase 6. gammon around, to fool around. Also, gamin, gammin

More proof the left can't meme. The comebacks just write themselves.

"Gammon what? Gammon serrano?"

"Is that a Harry Potter reference I'm supposed to get or I'm not cool like you?"

"You mean that guy from the old Zelda games?"

"Yeah, my uncle with Down Syndrome makes that sound sometimes too."

OED describes it as bacon.

Sounds like the left wing invented a new slur/hate speech.

Oh, I'm aware of what gammon actually is, it's a pinkish pig-sourced meat. And, I know why they use it to describe angry middle aged men. My question was more to the point of, "what do you think about these dicks being so hypocritical and shaming people for how they look just because they disagree, when doing so is effectively a policy point of theirs. I.E Fat shaming (which actually is a choice)".

Personally, I think that anyone who uses that phrase, on twitter specifically, should be throw into a volcano.

No surprise - this is one of the first n-words that will be created with the soon-to-be despised White minority.

Gammon, Blanko, Cracker, Colonizer, .... whatever... some countries will go into flash-mobs and genocide for sure.

Has anyone ever come up with a slur for white men that anyone gave a shit about?

Gammon? Cracker? Peckerwood? Whitey?

Do any of these pass the meh test?

Please God no! I will do whatever you ask. Just don't call me gammon again.

White people aren't raised to be sensitive about people making fun of their skin colour like black and other people are.

The words are irrelevant. It's the people they're aimed at that make them stick or slide.

Words chosen by advocates of political correctness themselves to describe certain outgroups in short order become slurs and new words have to be invented in a perpetual cycle of appeasement.

The final iteration of "People of colour" is pretty much the last bastion of political correctness, because it lumps the Pakistanis in with the Japanese whether they like it or not, and puts them all on the other side of the fence from the dreaded whites.

But because whites behave well and Pakistanis do not, it doesn't matter what you call either. The political correctness police could ham-fistedly nickname the Pakistanis "angels" and the whites "devils". In 6 months "angels" will be considered a racial slur and "devils" will be considered Nazi code for "beloved whites".

Invent new words. Rinse. Repeat.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.
