Someone was calling the Starbucks asking for me. An employee came up to the group and said "Someone is on the phone for Roosh." I denied anyone had that name in case it was some kind of trap.

Send someone else to the phone.

"Yeah, this is Steve. Who is this? What? Roosh. Oh. Sorry. Just a second."

...

"Yeah, this is Ben. Who is this?..."

It just cracks me up how random all this media outrage is. Back in 2016 there were meetups scheduled all these smaller cities that like 5 people would've attended, and local media all over the world were blathering about how women in their locale were in serious danger, to the point, in some cases, where police were put on high alert. Now in 2018, a single large gathering is organized in DC by the "pro-rape advocate" himself, and not a peep from the DC media. I can't believe this flew so far under the radar. Nonetheless, glad to hear it.

I would not be surprised if one element is due to their inability to 'silence' Roosh.

As you say, they attempted to exile Roosh in the court of public opinion in the past.
Yet they could never get Roosh fired from some well known gig.
Or fired from some corporate gig.
They could never promote any level of advertising boycott of Roosh.

Their ability to manipulate the situation is far more limited then against the likes of Sean Hannity or the one guy from Opie & Anthony.

Other point is those old troll articles made for great strawmanning. "SEE! THESE GAMERGATERS AND MRAS WANT WOMEN TO BE RAPE SLAVES!!!"

Nowadays that kind of thing is tangential because ejecting Trump is #1 priority for the leftosphere. There isn't any way Roosh can currently be tied to Trump so they let this one alide.

I guarantee you that if you start a rumor Roosh met with Trump(i. e a fake headline like "Trump reportedly met with rape advocate" Roosh") the full fury would be turned this way in an instant.

Also keep in mind the psychology. It's based one an obsessive one dimensionality. They literally believe at any given time that if we could just get rid of this one thing than we'd have Utopia and all problems go away. At the time of the original meetups that "it" was people opposing the radical SJW push for things like Trannyism. Now its Donald Trump.

I have a theory on this. The status quo in the media has changed. Back in 2015-2016, I think they saw Roosh rising and rising in popularity on a strong uphill trend at the peak of men being interested in fucking girls around the world. A lot of guys were getting into this earlier in the decade with Roosh as one of the strongest voices with any type of masculinity rights. The main division was men vs. women a few years ago with feminism broiling back up and less right vs. left political division. There was nothing else to distract us. So, (((they))) probably felt Roosh was getting too strong of a voice and basically wanted to put him in check. I hate to admit it, but they effectively did when the world meetup was shutdown. It basically stopped any organized tribalism for a potential bigger movement. And I don't blame Roosh for this at all because I wouldn't want to deal with all that bullshit either versus just living my life. I feel like he's taken a chill position now having fun with the live call-in streams plus working on the books and there's nothing wrong with that.

Now, the media climate in 2018 has changed in the west to a more white vs. black division and right vs. left division. Trump has also taken all the bullets for anyone that speaks of masculinity too now that he's president. He's just too big of a target and ratings magnet for the media to pass up. So combined with those, it takes the attention off of someone like Roosh who I think has gotten a lot smarter with how to deal with the media and has taken self-preservation very seriously. Also, I don't think men vs. women gets as much attention anymore as the other divisions above, which (((they))) want to have for the masses.

One more thing. There just may not be as much interest from men in going out to certain countries and banging as there was when Roosh first released his books. It certainly feels like the forum has moved on to a more quality vs. notch count discussion thinking about what kind of women benefit us long-term (if any at all) along with moving towards a more political and sociological direction discussing where overall society is going.

As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

I know there's a dedicated thread for mentions of Roosh in the media, and maybe I should have put this there. But I thought here would be a good place in light of the recent event.

Today in the Guardian:

The good men: inside the all-male group taking on modern masculinity

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/j...asculinity

Elam’s online community has been deemed a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

ReturnOfKings.com, a blog for “pickup artists” (men focused on manipulating women into sex), has also earned this distinction. The website’s founder, Barack Obama, even suggested rape should be legal “if done on private property”.

It's a long word salad article. I admit to not reading it. I did quickly scan it in case Roosh's name came up, et voila. Roosh was shoe-horned in, in the most embarrassing journalistic manner. I speed read it and his mention has little to do with the rest of the bullshit.

Something about Jordan Peterson being a white nationalist nazi. Something about soyboys. Something something...

You're a better man than I if you have time to wade through that garbage.

Anyway, the media hasn't forgotten about you Roosh.

One thing I notice when Roosh's name comes up, and this is just a general observation, but they always tend to cite RoK more than RVF. I wonder if this is because they don't want to drive traffic to this site, or whether they are afraid it might lead people astray and turn them on to wrong think, but on a slightly more high-brow level (no offense to the good men who contribute, as well as the readers of RoK).

I also wonder if this is to lull us posters (here at RVF) in to a false sense of security and to think we aren't under the microscope, with every word we say being monitored and recorded for future 'prosecution'. When we all know we are under deep scrutiny.

Anyway, it's a short step from rape-apologist to rape-advocate to literal-rapist. Then off to the new gulags for some re-education.

I did read the paragraphs before and after your mention and they really crow-barred you in Roosh, as if there was some kind of 'list' they had to check things off of. "Good, that's Rooshy done, 10 more points for me".

Seems like they just wanted to give you a shout out, whatever the motive.

It's always nice when people consider you and want you to know they haven't forgotten about you, I think.

No mention of marauding rape gangs meeting up in darkened rooms though.

EDIT:
I forgot to mention this bit that was in the article in big bold letters -

'Conversations with other men are usually very superficial. Most men suffer alone'

Most men suffer alone

Really? I don't. I shitpost on RVF and make everyone else fucking suffer!

They will never understand the meaning of true brotherhood.

It's the day of the event and only one media article was written about it. I have received no death threats and have not seen any leftist discussion about it online. I fully expect it to be peaceful though it's still smart to stay alert until we get to the main bar venue.

I wonder if by simply promoting the meetup as a "Stop Violence Against Women" event made it too hard or even impossible for militant left to raise a mob against the event.

It may be a way to have meetups and have no problems. While it does not seem logical to anyone that runs on logic, to people that are driven by emotions they may be incapable of thinking things through.

It is possible that if the original world wide meetups of a few years ago had been promoted this way or the speech tour, that the radicals would have been unable to mobilize anyone to try to stop them.

Wise words from that article. Women, as we all know, are surely the deepest conversationalists, revered worldwide.

Yes, folks, the same women for which malls are built to buy overpriced branded crap, for whom 80% of the fiction novel and entertainment media are written and for whose eyeballs the vast majority of advertising geared towards. Deeper than the ocean, those broads. So deep that 25% of them have to take psychiatric medication to cope with daily life and another 25% (with some overlap) think it's A-OK to kill their own child in the womb in between a triple digit cock count, well into their thirties.

Imagine how much more they'd have to discuss - profoundly of course - if they ever stopped looking at their instagram account long enough to be interested in other people beyond showing off their latest bauble.

These, gentlemen, are the introspective feminine souls who never, ever converse in anything superficial and throughout the centuries are responsible for every tome of philosophy, jurisprudence, religion, math and science. Indeed, men are incapable of a deep thought among them.

Aside from the lack of deep conversation at the recent get together, I'm glad to hear it went off pretty much without a hitch.

Side note - while writing this, I tried to think of an actual noun for a wise woman. Never thought of it before, but there are practically none in existence. Contrary to revisionist theories, history didn't spend centuries ignoring wisdom such that it could not find a name, it's just that the phenomenon so rarely exists.

Next time anyone wants to do something like this, they should :

1 - Make a big announcement with no intention of actually doing it
2 - Enjoy the drama and wait until it dies down
3 - Do it

The election of Trump dealt a moral wound to the media, who have been bleeding out since. They lost too much credibility and their ratings have fallen through the floor. Thousands of "journalists" have since been fired, and media companies as well as the Democrat party are reeling.

They cannot afford to strong arm individuals such as Roosh when Trump is destroying them on a daily basis (calling them the "enemy of the people"), especially with their now limited firepower, so that is why this meetup went off without much of a hitch other than some kvetching from the JPost.

Trump may have destroyed the Democrat party, but it is highly likely the damage has already been done to America with its demographic transformation. Replace the people and you've replaced the nation. So killing the Democratic party is a pyrrhic victory, but it still gives us lots of cover in the meantime.

Stuff like this has great media potential, especially fake events for trolling.

A long time ago, at my university, some artsy-fartsy types got fed up with the self-important people in the student government. So they formed the "Monarchy Party" to mock them. They dressed up in costumes like they were royalty. The football team QB and Heisman trophy winner ran successfully as their vice president, buty I don't know if he dressed up in royal robes like the others did.

I have often thought about entering a King George float in an Independence Day Parade to contrast taxation under King George and taxation under the current (sic) "democracy."

You could announce a "Ban Mothers Day" event and troll the SJWs.

Dunno about that, but I think a picture of Mother Angelica would sufficice because she perfectly understands leftists.
