Hello guys,

I just moved to Medellin and want to start making videos. I am professional in Marijuana growing and here it is legal. I have been thinking about making high quality tutorial videos about every step of the process from seed to high quality dry flowers in soil and in hydroponics. I would grow indoors. I have +8 years experience in growing and my flowers are always A++ quality and i wish that i could have seen this kind of tutorial videos when i started.

Business is this. I would make a website which shows few free tutorial videos to hook the potential customers and to see all the videos it would cost lets say 29.99$. Problem is that i have no experience in marketing. I have read couple of books, but i am newbie in marketing and i dont have any social media accounts so i would have to start from scratch or to have a partner.

How you guys would market the website?

Things like this crossed my mind about marketing. Youtube. Udemy. Instagram. Marijuana related forums. Tumblr. I was thinking also google, but i have no idea what kind of keywords should be optimized to turn the customers in to buying and i personally think maybe the ones above could work better.

Also if someone finds this a good idea and have experience in marketing could send me a private message and we could team up.

It's totally doable to have a good Google Rank with a niche website.

Google gives you a good rank if:
1/ your website have a lot of quality links pointing on it
2/ people have a lot of interactions with your website (for example they spend a lot of time on it because the content is so good)

To catch future customer a good way is to create a newsletter so you can contact them with their emails. First you offer free content to seduce them and then you propose premium content.

In your case, do you have a risk that Youtube close your chanel? What are the rules with Marijuana growing on Youtube?

Also the Youtube rules can change anytime so Youtube can decide to close your chanel anytime.

x2. I'd make youtube teaser channels, then SEO, then maybe paid traffic after you have the funnel down.

Those 2 may take a while to gain traction but will (should) work well over long term.

Something tells me that ain't right, but I don't know. I'd ask atleast 3 different Colombian lawyers in 3 different cities before testing that law and making your grows public online, but that's just me.

These videos will take 4-5 months to be ready. What you suggest me to do meanwhile i am filming material should i make teaser video in youtube? what about my website? Some content about growing marijuana and newsletter and when the videos are ready then spam everyone e-mail?

I really appreciate every point of view. I searched about teaser videos and it seems like a great idea, but when to upload it? when i have everything ready or ASAP.

(The following is general advice which could apply to any project)

If a project takes 4 months to execute, you can begin planning right now.

Make teaser videos outlining your plans, your past achievements and tell your new audience what will be available in your course. You can 'grow' interest prior to finishing the project. If you have any pictures of past grows or finished product, you could use those in the teaser.
You could do equipment review/recommendation and setup. How to screen seeds in initial stages for optimum growth, etc.

You need to setup a website with a call to action and begin growing a mailing list of interested people/potential customers, so when your course becomes available, you have a channel to notify interested people.

In the meantime as you develop your core offering, you'll need to work out your business name, some branding, register a website and social media pages.

Begin researching your competitors too, who else is out there doing the same thing. What are they offering and what do they charge?

Its a dead and decomposed business model. You are better off doing them all for free with 100% of the content and secrets for free then become known as an expert and get other work like consulting or product promotion from your fame. You will be on a fast road to obscure nobody as soon as they reach the paywall.
