Looking for thoughts on Bosnian Seaside town of Neum

As far as I understand Bosnia has 20km of coastline. The one town that Bosnia has on the ocean is Neum, population approx. 4500. The portion of Bosnia on the coast divides croatia in half- so the portion of Croatia south of Bosnia is thus disconnected from the northern portion.

Anyway, I'm sure, no doubt Croatia or Montenegro is great for the beach, but I've always been more eager to check out off the radar places--and I think Neum would qualify. I think it would be at least noticeably cheaper than Croatia because it's in Non-EU Bosnia, and compared to Montenegro there should be no "Russian Tax" because all the Russians are in Montenegro. Albania I am open to, but I have always been a fan of Bosnian culture.

Anyone checked the place out? I'd bet it'd be pretty nice this summer. Looks like a great place to rent an apartment and meet some girls and eat some Chevapi! Also, don't think there's much of a chance of running into western tourists. Anyone heard anything about the place?

Stopped there when getting a bus from Mostar to Dubrovnik a few years ago. Bosnia tends to be off the radar for most Western tourists. Perhaps due to a plurality of citizens being Muslim or the war in the 90's. It is unfortunate as it as a stunning country. For Chevapi go to Laguna I am sure it will still be there. I read something that said only 6000 out of nearly 65,000,000 Brits go to Bosnia each year.

Pretty much every person on holiday was Croatian but this was back when Croatia was not as popular as now. It has really taken off in the last few years but i never hear of anyone even taking a day trip to Bosnia. I stayed with a girl and her family in Split for a week and they had never met a Scottish/British person. Neum was the same with tourists and businesses alike. I imagine hitting Neum this summer would be the best time for the mix of popularity and not being overcrowded.

Wow, sounds good! Trying to avoid those Western tourists, and it sounds like the place to do so. Croatia is too damn popular.
