Why are women more likely to abuse their children?

Is it because of the current cultural climate which shames men for showing even a hint of abusive (including behaviors that aren't legitimately abusive) behavior while never mentioning abusive women, therefore only dealing with half of the problem? Aren't women biologically programmed to care for their offspring? How are women who are abusers escaping biology? What is wrong with these people?

Are we talking per hour or just in general? Even in modern society I would wager that women spend far more time with children than men do. Ergo they will abuse more overall.

If you mean per unit of time spent with children, I don't know if that's true without seeing some decent studies. Not saying it isn't but the idea that mums hit kids more overall doesn't mean anything.

Buddy of mine got abused as a kid by his mom because he reminded her of his dad -- who left her crazy ass ASAP.

The short answer is that women spend more time having custody of and raising children.

Also the types of abuse that women commonly use are more insidious and harder to detect (psychological/emotional abuse) so they can go on for longer.

As for why its never mentioned, its because feminism has an iron grasp on the industry of victimhood. You will see this with domestic violence amongst adults where the narrative is that only men are abusers. Amongst children the focus is entirely on child sexual abuse (mainly committed by men) to the exclusion of other abuses like parental alienation.

You can find more information on subreddits like /r/mensrights, but be aware that wallowing in how unfair life is in areas like this isn't going to help you. You're better off just accepting it and devoting your energies towards improving yourself and living a happy and productive life for yourself.

Stories and legends across virtually all cultures, prior to these cultures having contact with each other, thus independently formed views, all depicted women as being more cruel than men.

Stories around stepmothers abusing step children (i.e. those they have no bond with) are legion.

Women abuse everyone because it's their nature. They have to be careful around men because they are more feeble.

Children are helpless, thus often subject to the feminine trait of cruelty. More so if women think they can get away with it.

A masculine trait is to defend the helpless

Bingo.

OP, I don't mean to sound condescending, but don't take statistics at face value just because they confirm what you'd like to believe, or you'll become no better than the people you're against. Take the critical thinking ability you summon when you hear that 1 in [random number between 2 and 5] girls are sexually assaulted at college, and apply that all of the time.
