Whats the East Village or Lower East Side equivalent in Paris?

Area with high concentration of bars, attractive nightlife crowd, good logistics?

I read about Rue de Lappe (good spot, good variety of bars) on here, but saw some posts saying crowds aren't that good. Any alternatives?

1. Republique / Parmentier / Arts et Metiers and along the Canal north toward La Villette.

2. Grands Boulevards / rue Montmartre / boulevard Montmartre. Start at O’sullivan pub 1 boulevard Montmartre.

Try rue de Lappe and the general Bastille area too it’s not so bad.

My favorite spot was Corcoran's irish pub , bar and dancefloor , many people in and out until 4 AM. so you can do many approches with new flow ( Paris is about being aggressive ) , one of the easiest place in Paris with a decent quality.

Go early if it is your first time and the bouncer dont recongnize your face , go 10 or before . and wait until midnight or 1 for the action.

if you are with girls you will be fine , you can go whenever you want.

Ps : Corcorans is not in rue lape , rue lape usually a cockfest

Update on rue de Lappe: I was on rue de Lappe last Saturday (with my wife). We dined at Cuban restaurant & club. At the next table six well dressed French girls in their late 20s were having dinner, obviously intent upon finding a boy that night. My wife reflected that the area is very safe and she said our daughter should go out here with her friends. Each bar has three sturdy security guys at the door, and a patrol of heavily armed yet debonnaire policemen are going up and down the street, shaking hands as they go. A few drunkards in the street, but a general good natured mood.
