I like to do a sort of modified intermittent fast when cutting. I'll just push my first meal as late into the day as I feel comfortable... makes it easy to have decent-sized meals while losing weight

If I'm trying to put on size or make strength gains I find it too hard to get in calories without eating a decent sized breakfast

You should try both. I've successfully lost weight on IF, calorie counting and Tim Ferriss' slow carb diet (where he recommends eating almost as soon as you get up). Just find what works for you

To eat or not to eat: breakfast

Eating breakfast changes your metabolism's entire aspect on the day... You can substitute it with coffee or other stimulants, but the fact remains. If you need to skip a meal, which I don't suggest, skip supper.

Eat a large breakfast, eat a large or mediocre lunch, and eat a mild supper. Drink lots of water.
