Do protein shakes work? I really can't follow a strict diet because of school and work but it wouldn't be a problem drinking those.

I pack pre-made protein shakes into a Nissan Thermos (on Amazon for $30 or so).

Saves me a fuck load on lunch - as it's a form of "brown bagging." Also, it keeps me nourished.

Make your own too (I'm assuming Mike might already)

Get some plain vanilla protein powder, a bunch of bananas, a quart of yogurt and one bag each of frozen blueberries, frozen raspberries, and frozen blackberries.

Put the powder, the yogurt, the banana and the berries in the blender and buzz it down.

(Now dont judge me...)

When I was a videogame nerd and was playing WoW on the weekends but was in the process of losing weight, I'd skip dinner and make one of these and drink it during. Was easy to manage while occupied (work/school) and kept me full, tastes good too.

My local Costco has a huge bag of frozen berries (blue, rasp, and black) pre-mixed. Huge bag for $8.

Costco has large cans of Muscle Milk protein for $30.

Huge containers of Greek Yogurt are $5.

Grab a mag of milled flaxseed from health food store for $8.

My high-protein, superfood meals cost approximately $2.37 each.

I mix enough for two supermeals in the a.m. Go to work, and lunch and dinner are covered.

Throw them in this for $23. Keeps it cold, and cleans easily.

Well, I want shakes for protein and maybe put on some pounds with. Do you just substitute drinks and have them with meals? Or in between meals?

whey ISOLATE is the worst kind of protein available. You don't fully metabolize it and it has a very specific purpose..(usually post work out nutrition). Taking an isolate is basically throwing money away.

Everyone should be using CASEIN protein.

I always recommend having liquid meals with solid meals (simultaneously). Protein is nutritionally INCOMPLETE and you will not benefit from it unless you have a combination of carbs, fats and vitamins.

As for creatine, I'm assuming you want to know if it promotes muscular hypertrophy ??

I've never used it and its nearly impossible to quantify its effect.

what is your current Height / Weight and what are your goals ?

I used creatine back in the days. It was EXCELLENT. If you use it, make sure you go for good quality. I can't remember what I used before..but I didn't go for the cheap shyt.
Combine creatine with protein so that you are able to gain during your heroic strength outburst.

Here is the key point: To maximise your creatine effects (and I have said this before), take it with WHITE grape juice. It serves as an insulin spike and I was lifting the entire gym on that shyt.

Plus, as a bonus, I was slaying lizards who were just wow'ed by my body. Lizards love muscles.
