Looking for a psychiatrist

Hi white wolf here I wanted to apologize to the form for threatening to commit suicide and for having a general negative attitude in my posts. I know making another account is against the rules feel free to ban me after this post. I was wondering if the form can do me one last favor. I’m trying my best to as it is but I still feel like I need someone to talk to. And I can’t bug Aurini or you guys all the time was psychiatric questions. The problem I have with finding a psychiatrist is that there mainly women with no knowledge of what young men face in today’s world. So my question is would any of you know anyone with psychiatric experience who is red pill that I’d be able to talk to about medication and life. I am willing to pay this person to help me if that is needed.

Contact Giovonny. He has written great psychology stuff on here, I think he won't mind helping you out.

Don't be threatening people that you will commit suicide, most people don't really care.

I hope you get better as soon as possible. Go travel for few months, it will make you feel better.

Bro, come on. Young men in today's society don't face worse problems like those before them.


The word teenager wasn't even invented until the 50's. Before that there were children and there were men. The transformation usually happened during war, or maybe the gap before you died with tuberculosis..

We have it really easy.

The truth is, when people have nothing to complain about, they create it. I.e -- I have nothing to bitch about, guess I'll complain about the whales and seals getting clubbed. I can't get laid, guess I'll bitch about social media and women attention whoring.

Wake up.

A. You want to learn about life, find an 85 year old war-veteran or Cuban refugee pre-Castro and talk to him. The first two quesitons you ask him should be; How do I survive the storm and What matters / What doesn't.

B. And if you want to learn about women -- invite a strip-club owner out to lunch and pick his brain.

If you really feel you need a psychologist, my best advice is to find one that works closely with veterans who have PTSD, even if you are not one, and has a good reputation in the community. He will be much more equipped to communicate with masculine men and the unique issues of being a man in today's society. Even if you're not a masculine man there's no need to become more pussified. Personally, I'm very suspect of modern psychotherapy - seems to be the realm of the SJWs and a lot of it is bullshit.

I highly recommend reading up on Rational Emotive Therapy instead. Much of it is rooted in Greek philosophy, particularly the Stoic variety, and it is the most scientifically proven form of psychology out there. You can find some videos on YouTube by an old guy named Albert Ellis, and he's a funny no-nonsense old fucker to boot so he's good for a laugh. He also has some books, and there's a thread here about his teachings: thread-28873.html

Read up on Stoic philosophy as well. Start with "The Obstacle is the Way" and go from there. You'll really be surprised how much your thoughts run your emotions, and stoic philosophy will help you build the right thoughts for more optimism, clarity, and emotional resilience.

I've also found "The Tools" by Stutz and Michels to be powerful stuff. Working from a blend of rational emotive therapy and the archetypes of Carl Jung, yet bringing them to a more immediately actionable form, these guys are the secret weapon of a lot of stars in Hollywood and the music business for making themselves focused and motivated and battling the issues we all see in our everyday lives, even when we're rich and famous, like inferiority and depression.

Finally, I think video binges of Jordan Peterson can be helpful. Flipping around between the different titles that catch my eye has gotten me back in step quickly a few time when I was in a bad spot.

A few other random snippets of advice. If you drink a decent amount of alcohol, stop. It's a powerful and toxic depressant, it's self-defeating, and it will eat away at every corner of your life until it hollows you out inside. I'm not here to preach to everyone who drinks, as I've had my share of fun with it, but if you've seriously contemplated suicide, it's time to make big moves for big results - would you rather end up dead for no good reason?

Start a workout program and get in the habit of heading to the gym when you start having a shitty day. A rush of hormones can instantly transform your mental state and the ongoing effort also has a long-term mood-lifting effect. Binge on comedy from time to time when you need to lighten up. Start meditating.

Last trick. Control what you can control - instead of thinking about big things you need to invest time or money to solve, look around you right now - what can you immediately do to see instant results in your life? Small results even. Make your bed or do your dishes are two examples - clean or organize your whole house.

It sounds trite but I cannot stress enough how much more it starts putting you back in control if you start with the small stuff and begin to get a handle on your world one step at a time. A man who cannot control the small things will really struggle to find the fortitude to control the larger things in life.

I started seeing a psychologist at a local clinic. They actually asked if I had a gender preference, and I said yeah, a man. She didn't like that, but honored it.

Therapy has been going really well for me. I got lucky because the first guy I went to was cool. If you walk into a room and the person you are talking to seems like a white knight, just go to another one.

Look in his eyes. Tell the truth about your life and what you think. If he is revolted by masculinity or truth telling, you will see it.

My therapist doesn't agree with everything I say, challenges me on a lot of stuff. I can tell though that he likes and respects me.

And that is part of HIS job, to gain rapport with me, and he is doing it well.

To sum up, in general a man will be able to relate more than a woman as long as he hasn't been indoctrinated too much by social correctness, but at the same time, no one will agree with you on everything, so as long as there is respect and honesty, you can work with each other.

It could end up being a pain to keep changing therapists until you find the right one, not to mention costly, though in the end it will be worth it, so don't just take the first one you find or the cheapest.

Another thing, don't underestimate the power of your friends. I think your good friends can give you better advice than any of these professionals. They know you well and will keep it real.

Guys, psychologist =/= psychiatrist.

OP, what questions do you have about medications?

What psychiatric condition do you think you have that requires medication?

Have you been on medications in the past?

Are you aware of the risks of SSRIs, etc? Do you think you need antidepressants or mood stabilizers?

This is an public forum, nothing can be deleted, BUT on the other hand, everybody is anonymous, you're basically on a burner account, and it's highly unlikely that whatever you have or want to get treated with medications is remotely uncommon. You might as well ask.
