Chicago named among safest cities in the world

I've been to Chicago many times, never had a problem. Who you are, where you are, and what you're doing makes a big difference in terms of safety.

Yeah, I agree, but if you just think that way, then there is no way to rank which city is the safe or not.

What you are doing is being subjective...

Weird little thing I just noticed when watching a video from Chicago`s South side ghetto.

Per capita, Chicago has a much lower murder rate than St. Louis, Detroit, and Baltimore. While more murders happen there, the population is larger, meaning an individual is less likely to be killed.

If you are going to impose your will on the world, you must have control over what you believe.

Chicago is one of the safest, cleanest big cities in the USA. Much cleaner and nicer than NYC, LA, etc...

Of course, I'm assuming you never visit Chiraq; the south side of the city that no one has any reason to visit - ever.

What if I just want to see a White Sox game? I've read that Camden Yards is in a "safe" area of Baltimore; is this true with Guaranteed Rate Field? (although lol what the fuck kind of name is that. Wiki says it's named for a Chicago-based mortgage lender but still, they REALLY couldn't come up with anything better than that? it's almost as bad as the Rays letting an orange juice company name their POS "ballpark".)

If you want to see a White Sox game then wait until they play the Cubs and go to Wrigley field.

The area near the White Sox stadium is safer than it used to be overall. This is the Bridgeport neighborhood to be exact. Historically it was an Irish neighborhood & it is right next to Chinatown. But don't venture west or south of there, as it can get dicey rather quickly. I'm quite sure you can take the CTA "el" train right back to downtown & the north side from the White Sox stadium quite easily. Likely plenty of taxicabs & Ubers around there as well.

The actual stadium is aesthetically pleasing & more modern than Wrigley Field where the Cubs play (north side). But Wrigleyville is overall a more happening, fun neighborhood to hang out in.

In other news, Canberra just got named third best city in the world to visit by Lonely Planet. If you don't get the joke, you haven't been to Canberra. Oh and Seville was number one followed by Detroit at number two. http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news...z6xji.html

I have heard there is literally nothing in this city to see and do; a faux planned city created solely to push paper.
