Anyone here willing to comment on playing tennis for the purpose of meeting women? Particularly those who may be more wealthy, and or come from well breed families if you get lucky?

Tennis and Squash is like poor man's Golf. If playing Golf you can meet and befriend a lot of fellow millionaires, then playing Tennis and Squash you can meet and befriend a lot of fellow small company CEOs, small business owners, middle managers and so on.

I would use more for social connections with other men then women. Sure you could meet women too, but you'd get a bigger flow of potential prospects from simple day-game or clubgame.

If you want to attract Tennis groupies then you must be good at it, while with men you just hove to be decent.

I don't know if it's worth the effort to do it, because it would mean spending a lot of time hanging about the club.
But I must say that there are a lot of attractive women who play tennis.

Golf is for fat old men. And Kramer.

If 40 plus year old housewives are your forte, go for it. Any other attractive women involved in tennis are really good at it, so you would have to be too. Or you could just hang around the tennis courts and make lots of racquet.

From my brief introduction to tennis, and also via friends, it does not seem to be a good place to meet women.
Play if you enjoy. Do not play any sport for the sole purpose of meeting women. Do it first, and foremost, because you like it.

Just wondering. I started working at a world class countryclubesque health club, and met a guy who played tennis(no tennis courts in the literal sense) and wanted to see what you guys had to say about that. Decided no need for the tennis thing because our old sport is enough to handle as is.

I just reside in the facility boxing, working on my agility, working out, dribbling my soccer ball, doing mobility work, stretching the hips so I can do a splits, sneaking around, swimming, using the sauna in between talking to women, combing the beach suited down to get people to sign up for the gym(aka talking to women and meeting local Gs/night life cats/old real estate dudes/business connects),and building relationships with local businesses to get them to sign up.
Belive me when you have all that plus the peacock feathers to match the rest takes care of itself....

One week into my tenure there and the only reason I have my job still is because the madam I've seduced is a real operator in her circles within the fitness world so they need me to keep mining for gold and to prevent her from speaking ill of our facility. She's already attempted to court me. Old but in shape to say the least......so it makes the vet worth it.

I'd tell you what she has me on the payroll for and whats on the books but....do me a favor please? Okay.

Tennis is a beautiful sport. It's one of the few that men and women can have competitive play together, and still have a good time. My family gets together and plays doubles for hours. It doesn't matter your age, sex, or ability, it's always enjoyable.

I never met girls through tennis, but in college I used it as a fun date. Bitches love tennis. No other sport lets them spend time in the sun in a short skirt, while also pretending to be a strong powerful athlete like Serena Williams.

If you're an in shape guy with a few lessons under his belt, no way beginner girls will be able to beat you. Unless they played competitively, you'll do pretty well, so if she starts talking about "when I played in high school"...watch out for her serve.

Meeting girls on the tennis court is possible, but like other posters mentioned I wouldn't do it JUST to meet girls.

The other day I was reading an old thread about hot yoga. Gio was talking about how tiring it was to bounce around yoga classes trying to meet girls, wasting hours and hours doing sun salutations in for the poosy. After wasting all that time he decided to stand outside yoga classes and hit on girls as they were leaving. Much easier!

You could do the same with tennis. Go to a health club that has tennis courts and stand around when matches are over.

You'll quickly learn it's mostly MILF's. There probably are some cuties, but let's be honest, girls don't commit to shit. After high school, they all hang up the racquet unless they're on the university team. In that case they'll whoop your ass so stay away.

Don't get me wrong, it could happen. There are exceptions to the rule, but if you hate tennis, don't do it for the girls. Go do something else.

Tennis is a great opportunity to network with men though. There's only a handful of guys who are successful businessmen AND play tennis, so if you can crack that circle, you're golden.

I predicted a year ago that the next level of social circle game is getting dads to hook you up with their daughter. No one agreed with me, but I still think it'll happen, and tennis is a great way to get inside the family....figuratively and literally [Image: wink.gif]

I already watch out for "when I played in high school" unless it starts and ends with "practiced" "danced" "gymnastics" with few exceptions. Most girls who played anything in highschool lack the understanding and therefore aren't even on the table so to speak. These civilian types aren't worth toning down the flare for unless they're mad fly or already rolling into my spot with a cocktail dress and heels at the ready. Exceptions probably include tennis and lacrosse types who know what time it is. I have a soft spot for them and have the fondest memories of all with lacrosse so it only makes sense.
I might have to pick up racquet ball within the company in order to pull that off.

Nice young lad who's perfect for your daughter game sounds good.
Real easy to sneak around with so to speak and prevent certain madaims from seeing me as a pig of sorts. Risk reduction is always of use...and I love reducing risk....risk averse of course.

The only problem I see is these real-estate dudes, and finance assholes seeing me run around all sneaky like, and nimbly courting my way around with ze medaim dejour sauvinion. Who wants some guys like that running around with their little princess? sounds kinda weesh.....like weesh as in that dude greg in marketing who bought himself a toyata prius as a Christmas present and drinks soy milk because he's to dumb to take lactase enzyme.

I may have known what a mortgage was in 5th grade, and laugh my ass of at people who see real-estate as glamorous. Heck maybe I've helped people sell a time share or two,and can talk at length about the trials and tribulations of the 2008 housing crisis, and what its actually like to flip properties and rent houses for a living at a younger age than most should even understand how a landlord lease agreement works....or destroying the tendons in my wrists due to failed battles with HOAs over land scaping because no one followed my legal advice....but hey you didn't hear anything..capish or let allah Hamada bless you good night and wish you never slept.

Fiduciary I'll be sure to let people know I ain't mixing concrete, wiping down pillow cases with lisol wipes, cleaning toilets, breaking bricks, doin demos (all pro bono) or pitching to uncaptive audiences who can't be sold ever again.

Tennis was great for me in high school, I met a lot of girls, but you can also network with a lot of people you wouldn't normally talk to.

If you're thinking about university sports clubs, do pole vaulting. All the young girls there are fit and slim, possess a pair of long legs, and keep a set of long hair.

Don't play a sport you aren't interested in just because you want to meet girls. Your lack of interest will show in a negative way and tends to be perceived as creepy because (whether they realize it or not) it conveys hidden intentions like you're just trying to weasel up to girls.

Disagree. acting skills. Your own reality. Being really into yourself.
Can take you pretty far as for how the hoe game goes. Thats why chicks dig waterboys.

I agree though ultimately that it's always atleast gotta be a genuine interest in any game.

I'm an active tennis player. I've been playing tennis since before the onset of puberty. Because I have the base of hours in, I've kept playing as an adult. I'm a pretty good recreational player. I can play at about the same level as women who have played NCAA tennis and graduated within the last 15 years. I have had a few of these matches.

Over the years, I've rarely met potential dates while playing tennis. There was a time that I played on a public court and an attractive Latina was playing on the court next to me with another woman. I was able to get her on a date but that fizzled out quickly. It fizzled out before I could even have sex with her.

One of the things that I have noticed in playing at both public and private courts over the years is that it's really rare to see 2 women playing a singles match with each other. The most attractive women in their 20s/early 30s who are playing are usually playing with a man, who is commonly their boyfriend. It's more common to see 35 or 40+ women playing doubles matches, but a lot of those women are married with kids. It's possible to see an attractive 35/40+ divorcee playing tennis at a private club, but you'd be hard pressed to see that at a public court.

If you are a semi serious male tennis player, you will find that the best quality opponents will usually be other men, unless you can break into a circle with former NCAA tennis playing females who also happen to be attractive and heterosexual at the same time. That's not easy for even a highly competent male player like myself to find, let alone a beginner to intermediate tennis player.

I would only recommend tennis as a means of game in some very specific situations. Most are going to have their time better spent doing day or night game.

Where do you play matches after college? I've seen some local neighborhood leagues, but they seem to be people over the age of 30 and I'm in my twenties. I'm wondering if there are some places I missed with more similar age people. Just curious, cause it's been a long time since I last played. I'd say Im more intermediate level, started when I was like 12 years old.

Local neighborhood leagues are one option. Go look at the USTA leagues in your city if you are in the United States. Private clubs also have leagues.

I'm 35, but have been playing leagues since my 20s. The most competitive tennis that you will find will come as a result of singles matches with other men. However, the best options for gaming females via tennis are group drill classes at private facilities and possibly mixed doubles league. I've done group drill classes at times, and I've not accomplished a lot with younger females there. It may take a while to find reasonable target females, but if you have the devotion to the game, there's a chance it could be a worthwhile avenue for pursuing females.

The other thing about mixed drill/group workout type classes is that you get in practice time, which isn't always easy to do for the working professional. With my own tennis, I would say that in the past decade, my ratio to live match time vs. pure practice or instructional time has been something like 95% to 5%. Many of the live matches over the years I've had have been non-league matches with male friends of a similar skill level to my own or the occasional match that I have had with a top tier female player who I would be looking to facilitate something romantic with as well.

Thanks for the insight! This brings back memories. I used to do USTA tournaments all the time, but never tried a USTA league. Never thought about private clubs.

I hate singles, felt like half my matches always ended up in a grind. Which was also thrilling at the same time, but not sure I want to deal with that again haha. I'd probably aim for more doubles just for fun, don't care if mixed or not. Meeting women I'm interested in would just be a bonus.
