Ames, IA Datasheet

City Overview: The most important you need to realize about Ames is that it's a college town pure and simple. Iowa State University is located here, and this means the town revolves around the college. This also means though you have a hell of a lot of college girls to choose from, and Ames besides Iowa City has the best choice in the entire state of Iowa.

Girls: Ames represents one of the two spots in Iowa has the finest girls this state has to offer hand's down. This is town has a major college, and this means it's full of the best that the Midwest has to offer as modest but surprisingly ethnic mix. This school though is still going to be dominated by white chicks, but there are other options if that is your type of thing. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, here are some pictures of the ISU girls at their finest.

Yep... pretty white indeed.

*Cavet* As much as I wish this was the Ukraine, I'm afraid you can't roll into Iowa and expect the same amount of talent you would in Miami or somewhere. With that said, you will find the usual mix of artistic, athletic, hipster, etc here.

Sight seeing: I'm simply going to repost what I found at the wikitravel guide because I only ever come to this town to party.

Iowa State University

Occupying nearly 500 acres in the middle of town is the scenic main campus of the Iowa State University, with its many lovely trees and a large collection of public art scattered throughout. Architecture varies, from gorgeous classically designed buildings in the middle of the campus to more modern brutalist-style buildings around the edges. A large lawn occupies the very center of the campus, with a small lake at the southern end.

Today it is operated as a historical museum with period furnishings. Free, donations accepted.

The main library on campus, Parks Library, is notable for holding a set of murals painted by Grant Wood (creator of the famous American Gothic painting). Located down a quiet side hall and an adjacent study room, the murals depict agrarian life and the home and agricultural-based education ISU is noted for.

Lodging : I've only stayed in one place in Ames, and it's really the best place to stay at. The Hotel Memorial Union is located in the center of town, and it won't break your bank. It also makes logisitcs a lot easier.

Game Spots:

Cy's Roost- This place is usually packed during football games, but not really the best place to pick up as most people are simply there to enjoy the game, and get hammered.
Element Dance club- Good dance club, the music is a mix of hip-hop and country. Although tend to change the music selection around a bit. This place usually has a good ratio of guys and girls.
Mickey's. Frat-bar
Sips. Dance club I've never been here personally, but it's been recommended to me as a good place to meet girls out looking to dance and hook up.

*It should be noted that it's illegal to sell alcohol after 2AM

Ease of approaching: Approaching here is the same as any other place I imagine. I think that younger guys might have better luck because this is a college town, but that is just a guess. The biggest factor that would help you here is the exotic one. Even a college town doesn't change the fact that this is Iowa, and anything new or authentic is going to draw more attention.

If you travel then by all means find a way to work it into the conversation. Girls maybe actually down for a ONS if they know your leaving in the morning, so play up the traveling factor.

I'm not sure I would recommend going full Mixx GQ when dressing up, as most of the time it's a lot more casual. Truth be told I've never actually seen anyone around here dressing full GQ when going to our idea of dance clubs, and bars so by it might work. It's something I'd like to try in the coming months, and then perhaps I can come back and give you better advice on that front.
-
Logistics: I've already told you about the best hotel to stay in, there are plenty of taxi's and buses to use. I'd recommend renting a car if your going to be staying more than a week, but that's just a personal preference really.

Overall pros and cons:

Pros:
-College Town
-Girls are a lot more like to be DTF
-It's Iowa so anything authentic or exotic gives you instant creditability.

Cons:
-It's Iowa... no supermodels here
-College guys can be big cockblockers if they think your some guy trying to poach in their field. Usually buying them a drink will work here.

Personal experience: I've gone up here on the weekends, and it's always been a kind of hit or miss for me. As my game has improved, I've got a couple of good bangs here, and a regular booty call for when I'm in the area. Some chicks are so focused on their education they don't want a relationship, but are then willing to use sex to relief some stress.
-
Final Thoughts: I would love to spend some more time up here, and sample all this place has to offer. One last note... never ever mention the Iowa Hawkeyes in a positive light here, or you will be going home alone.

It's the whole school pride thing, just keep your opinions to yourself and praise the team if it ever comes up in conversation.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me and I will do my best to answer.
