TLDR; American's should recite Pledge of Allegiance at professional/collegiate sporting events in response to protests from players.
**As I don't have enough posts I am putting this here even though it likely belongs in the Politics thread.**
In light of the events occurring in the NFL, NBA, MLS and other sports leagues with regards to President Trump, protesting, and the national anthem - Americans need a powerful way to show where our allegiances lie.
One way to show support for the United States, Trump, military and fellow Americans is to recite the Pledge of Allegiance - something that many of us did from a very young age at the start of each school day. Saying those words each day made me feel proud to be an American and created a sense of connection with those around me.
I propose that during professional sporting events a certain time should be designated for the Pledge of Allegiance recital (minute 17 or 76 in soccer | right after the national anthem in football/basketball).
While I lack the social connections to make something like this happen, I am sure individuals with greater reach could promote before NFL games so fans know when to say it. This would be especially potent if said after the national anthem, somewhat ostracizing NFL players disrespecting our country. Even if only 10% of the stadium did this, at a lull in the game it would be enough to be heard throughout the stadium.
What does the forum think of this as a way to fight back that would get media recognition? I'm curious about other ideas our community might have that are related to this.
