A handful of Orthodox Jews shut down a film during a flight: https://streamable.com/kwbzl

Their activism seems to be unstoppable, no matter the altitude.

Well, censorship and restriction of speech is high up on the list for the ADL, SPLC and other Jewish groups, so this should come as no surprise. All this overreach will only cause more anti-Jewish attitudes and actions. The age-old problem with the Jews is that they can't distinguish between when enough is enough. Overreach always leads to blowback. Their lack of a collective ability to learn is rather tragic.

I applaud this action. In-flight movies are an annoying anachronism. Everyone has laptops & tablets that we can watch whatever we want on. If you have no interest in what the airline is showing, those screens up & down the plane are an eyesore.

Some movie with Drew Barrymore and Ben Stiller, would you really want to watch it?

Do we know where the flight was coming from/going?

I don't think was in the US because there would've been several people that would've gotten up and removed the blanket/prevented them form putting it up in the first place not to mention the orthodox jews would have been detained once they landed on american soil.

Either way this is why some people don't like dealing with people from the middle east that are religious zealots. There's no reasoning with them. IT's either agree with them 100% or expect a fight to the death.

Was there a context for the video? What's the 'Why?'

Flights I have been on have a small television screen on every seat. I didn't see any televisions on the seats, and there was just one big screen. Was the plane from the 1950s? I can see the logic because everyone is forced to watch it or keep their eyes down. I think Orthodox Jews are also more aggressive with women. If a woman wears something sexy they spit on her. But in America, men are polite and then women snarl at you when you look at her as if you are doing something wrong. It's a matter of who controls the visual space.

It's not activism, it's religious fundamentalism. They're cut from the same cloth as Muslim thugs and Evangelical pederasts.

The bigger question is: "Who's the time traveller who shot this video?". I haven't seen big single T.V's on a plane since the 90's. I'm banking on these dudes.

The root of Islamic and Evangelical Christian destruction of idols stems from ancient Judaism. If there were a billion ultra-orthodox in the world they would do the same shit as ISIS and the Taliban.

The movie in question must be "Duplex", circa 2004, so that video is about 12 year old.

The video is from a network called Yeshiva TV, so their angle here must be, hey look at those virtuous mensch stepping up to shut down that filth, teachable moment. The irony is that the main providers of that filth are their wayward cousins out in Hollywood...

I wish there was more video or notes of what happened before this video takes place. But orthodox have tried this shit before. Granted they don't want outside influence (which might not be a bad idea now a days) but going nuts when they don't get their way.

In this case an orthodox Jew destroyed 2 screens in an El-Al flight because it had nudity in it and indecency.

The bad news is that they're intolerant. The good news is that they refuse to watch a movie with Ben Stiller as the male lead.

My favorite part of the video is the awkward and enthusiastic golf clap.

I don't think this video was that old. The guy is holding up what looks to be a Samsung Galaxy phone part way through the video.

I'm pretty positive that this was a flight on El-Al, the Israeli state owned airline. Their planes and services during a flight remind me of what it felt like to fly during the 90s. Decent food, semi comfortable seats in coach, and free baggage checking. They even have a super kosher meal that exceeds the kosherness of the regular food! They have overhead TV screens and wall mounted ones like that because they're Jews and too cheap to upgrade to the in seat option.

Not to mention, when Jews fly they can't stay in their seats at all. It was a fucking party in the aisle the entire time even with hostesses trying to do their rounds.

I sat next to an Orthodox Jewish lady on the flight and caused a little hubbub. Totally forgot unmarried women can't sit next to men!
