aka Facebook - formal request sent. No deactivation possibilities. All bridges have been burned. Contact info on the 20 people I'd like to continue staying in touch with whose phone numbers I don't have has been saved.

Am doing this to reduce total time spent in front of screens. I don't have a TV, and as a grad student, I spend most of my day looking at powerpoints or screens anyways. I have also increased my ambition level dramatically, so I just don't have time in a normal week to mess with that stuff - yet it distracts me easily, so I decided I better just kill it.

It's kind of a relief.

A year from now you'll wish you started today

I'm thinking about deactivating Facebook myself, but most of the people i met travelling are connected to me through there.

Facebook is a great tool if used correctly. Why not just pair down your friend list to a list of your actual friends and acquiescences, vs a list of everyone you have ever encountered? I think its ganna be weirder and weirder not to have a Facebook account, almost like not having an email account or cell phone. My vote is for some self control.....
