Hey guys I'm here to find like minded people on this forum.

I'm very confused atm because I don't know what to do with my life..

I've started studying computer science in college but I've realized I don't like programming..in my free time I study many books about marketing, sales and digital marketing-Seo..

Is there any of you that has been in this situation ? In this case should I change my major from computer science to economics for example or better to dropout and start a business or learn a trade skills like plumber/electrician ?

In my life I just want to make good money and travel the world.

It isn't the education that determines your future earning capabilities...it's the skills you learn (or don't learn) and their market value as you go through life. Most college majors won't specifically teach you skills, although a few (like computer programming) do. Economics at an undergraduate level is largely theoretical and hardly worth pursuing (if you want a job some day) unless (a) it includes skill building courses (that are demonstrated to led to real income upon graduation) or (b) you want to continue through to graduate study, in which you also better be learning something for which there is strong demand.

It's hard to earn money creating a business if you don't (a) have start up capital and (b) have experience/skills/knowledge that give you an edge that others do not have (because otherwise, people can simply copy your business and force you to compete on price).

There's also no shame in being a plumber or electrician.

This real comes down to what type of lifestyle you'd like to have in the future. For me, the trades would never cut it, because I like to live in third world countries and there's obviously no money in that for me in the third world.

My undergraduate degree, on the other hand, was also a huge waste of time (in terms of helping me earn income) and my current ability to earn money is based on skills I taught myself (as well as my reliability and professionalism).

Thanks! Well the lifestyle I'd like to have in future is to be able to make money (digital nomad style) while travelling the world.

I value more my time than money. Well money is important because it can buy time but tim cannot go back.

Do you think also being a plumber/electrician could help me for travelling around the world ?

I wish I would have dropped out earlier.

This is great I do this too...and have attended live multi-day events.

However, what has lead me to my impending digital income came from my past real-world experiences that I can market online to a receptive market.

As Suits wisely stated before...being a plumber/electrician outside of your home country where the wages are too low is futile.

However, I suppose you could work in these fields for 6-8 months a year and travel the rest of the year.

Being a plumber and electrician can mean one of three things.

(a) You work for someone else or a company. They won't appreciate you taking long vacations and will drop you in exchange for someone who doesn't disappear 4 months out of the year.

Suits, how would you then get a work permit (Z visa) for China, if you didn't get a degree?

I am a college dropout, have Chinese girlfriend that I will probably marry next year, and being able to legally make money in China is one of my main worries right now.

No, you're not going to launch a WFOE. No, you're not going to start your own language school. No, there are no clever work-arounds that would allow you to work in China legally without doing it entirely on their terms.

How can you use your plumbing skills to travel the world? Other than fixing people's stuff while you travel, they won't. And if you do that, your vacay won't be as enjoyable.

All I can say is this, don't put these type of decisions on the hands of strangers on an online forum. As much as the forum likes to say "fuck a 9-5, do you own thing", are usually people that don't know what they want to do or are pissed at life.

If you are accumulating a lot of debt, then I would drop out and find a retail/landscaping job. Then you can work and also create an online business in your spare time.
