If a renowned puncher like Pacquiao couldn't come close given that it's his own sport, I don't see how McGregor stands a chance. If he can last 6 rounds he's doing well. Mayweather will wear him down over 4-6 rounds and then TKO him, and that's if McGregor keeps him on the defensive. If he can't do that it'll be over in three.

Everyone's a winner (unless you bet on McGregor).

Edit: Unless Mayweather goes down to create the biggest shock in sporting history, leading to an even more lucrative rematch...just saying...(it wouldn't affect his perfect record would it?)

It's an interesting one. Early days 'Pretty Boy' Floyd would absolutely smash him to pieces. Now, due to his hand trouble (and age perhaps), I expect a very easy points win. But, even with hand trouble—Floyd really should knock him out due to the sheer gulf in class.

It's an exhibition circus act, but I will most definitely watch.

Lot of haters out there but you have to tip your hat to Connor. That guy played his cards better than any MMA fighter before him. After this fight, he and his family are set for life. He has no need to ever work again. His child will have whatever it needs. Connor could even drift into the movies scene as a next Statham for action films.

I think he's sorta mediocre as a fighter, but he's an awesome marketing case study.

I'm not a big fan of CM myself, but I actually respect that he makes so much of a scene before a fight that you're certain his opponent is getting paid because of those PPV numbers.

I'm a huge UFC fan, been watching it for decades, love Conor's trash-talking, the guy really gets how to sell a big fight better than anyone in the world, and he may be one of the best LWs ever at MMA....but no way can Conor be expected to win this.

This fight reminds me of that movie The Great White Hype, Floyd could probably come to the ring looking like Damon Wayans and still win.

True, but Mayweather simply won't accept any fight where he has even a slim chance of losing. His reputation is his livelihood, and he's earned it. Not going to risk it all now, not even close.

It will be interesting to see what the sportsbooks do. In most events like this, they wouldn't even take any bets because the odds would be so long. However it is boxing...you can't just NOT have a betting market.

From following McGregor, I think he has full intention of winning the fight and causing an upset. It's in his nature to win and not take an L before the fight even starts. The final result would be the same of him making his biggest payday against Mayweather.

No idea on game plan for McGregor, doesn't really clinch and fight on the inside. Main weapon would be his left which he would need to set up somehow. They'll be using boxing gloves not mma gloves so his power may be reduced. His counter game could be the only option but against Mayweather who fights defensively it would be hard. I don't see McGregor rushing him either, will be interesting to see how this fight plays out.

This fight Money Mayweather is doing 1 day after my birthday takes me back some 5 years ago when I was all over G Manifesto's site watching boxing videos of Mayweather and the awesome defensive show he puts on in his matches. The good ol' days.

Seriously though the guy is seriously hard to hit and his punches throughout each round accumulate into being to great to overcome. Some people call him a dancer but in reality he is just a defensive boxer that calculates not only when he wants to punch but also how and from what angle he takes his punches from.

This is what i'm thinking. The odd's will be insane, probably something like +1500 or so for Conor. Mayweather could take his entire purse of 100 million, put it on Conor and cash out a cool 1.5 billion. Then the inevitable rematch that would happen.
