I didn't read his posts to mean what is good or bad. More like what happens when you try to obstruct natural tendencies.
Since you used the bear analogy, this would more applicable, in my opinion. You can train a bear all you want but the threat of reverting to his natural tendencies will always be there. You never know when they will jump on your ass.
