I'll kick off with some tricks I've picked up already:
- For jackets, the lightest weight, thinnest, but warmest jacket is probably the Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer Down Jacket, 8oz. Doesn't look too bad.
- Avoid white clothes, it's difficult to keep them clean with limited access to laundry facilities.
- Clothes with a little spandex can be good for travel: wrinkle-free and stretch if you gain or lose weight.
- Stick to universal classics that look good in all cultures.
