Approaching at Malls

Here is another trick that I learned over the years...

First of all, what you say is true, buying something does gives us greater access to the salesgirl...

But, remember this.... All items are returnable with a receipt!

So, if you want greater access to the sales girl and the "ticket" that comes from buying something.. Buy something!

Keep your receipt and just return the items later if you don't want them.

Don't be limited in your approaches just because a girl works at a women's store, children's store, or a store that you are not interested in.... Talk to her, buy something and return it later.

Spend as much money as you need to, you're going to get it all back!

Thanks Gio for the input.

I'd add to try to focus on areas near certain stores where girls are more likely to go whereas dudes would probably never, ever go there (unless your girl makes you go there with her)

Some places off the top of my head are:

Sephora
Zara
Victoria's Secret

(maybe even Forever 21 and H & M but Zara has been consistent for me)

Additionally a mall is like a club in that there are peak times. One mall might have lots of foot traffic around 3-ish (as nearby schools/colleges get out) and die out at 6/8.

Lastly, certain malls will have different demographics. For example, Gio, you're in SF, right? The mall by SF state won't have as much traffic as the one in downtown Union Square but since it's right by SF state, you'll get more college girls there at certain hours where Union sq one will have more international tourists. In LA, the Grove and Glendale Galleria will have much more foot traffic vs a mall in any of the valleys BUT 3rd St promenade being situated by the beach will have higher likelihood of tourists.

Approaching at Malls

I've been gaming in malls regularly recently, and day game has been my bread and butter since getting into game.

These are my thoughts, sorry if they conflict with what others have said:

1. Do not game mall or store employees, at least not in the same way you would a customer of the mall. This is my rule with all places that I intend to day game regularly. If you approach one girl after a psycho mall employee and she decides to be a bitch, you can easily have security called on you. As far as I know it is against most or probably all mall rules to simply walk into the place with no intention to buy anything and to do what society at large would term "harass" girls (although we would more correctly call it game). If you do game the employees do so in a social circle sense especially if you are a regular there. Don't approach with the goal of just getting a number or whatever. Approach with the intention of building some sort of flirtation, banter, and rapport.

2. Do not stand in one spot and talk to girls as they walk by. This has been the single worst technique I have tried in malls in terms of the results I've gotten. I am not saying I haven't gotten numbers from it, but girls tend to keep walking away at a higher rate. If you are approaching in the lanes (by that I mean in the paths leading through the mall and not the stores or food court of whatever) I would recommend approaching a girl from behind and stopping her. If she is in front of you great. If she is walking the opposite way I think it is better to let her pass, then turn around and follow her as opposed to stopping her when she is going the other way. Again, just from my experience.

3. If possible continue the conversation for longer than you usually would. I know this is too obvious in general, with girls the longer you talk the better your chances are. But I've noticed that at least in my favorite mall in my city the girls can get approached a lot or they just give out their number without really intending to continue to get to know you. If you can make yourself stand out or develop something beyond getting her number the likelihood of success goes up.

Can anyone tell me if they have done an instadate in a mall, how it went, and if it is worth the investment? I never have done a true instadate in a mall, but I might give it a go. I do think that it should be reserved for a certain girl where the goal is to get a same day lay. The reason I say that is because I would rather do 20 approaches in a couple of hours than do 3 approaches and spend 2 hours with the last girl because you never know if it will actually lead to anything.

I think if your logistics are good and you can feel out her schedule and go for it. Roosh has a good section about this in his work Day Bang. I think he's more for arranging a date on a different day though, from memory he was saying something about high value girls having things to do, which makes sense.

I haven't done it in a mall but I hope my experience in a restaurant recently can help you. After chatting a bit we venue changed (by public transport for ice cream) then walked back to my place. Didn't get the bang but I feel like there's potential there if I'd gone to an alcoholic venue after icecream before heading home. From memory there's a thread on instadates which you could apply to the mall.

Thanks man. I've been on instadates through day game before, just never in a mall. Actually now that I think about it I did take a chick to Starbucks after meeting her at a mall once and it went well.

My personal view on how best to utilize a mall is to go at peak time on a peak day and do as many approaches as you can take. There have been days where I've talked to 10 girls and gotten 5 of their numbers in a mall, and that is within an hour or so. Looking forward if I have the time I might just set aside three hours of my day during peak times to try to do like 30 approaches. If I can even get 1/3 numbers that is still ten leads in one day.

I will try an instadate in a mall as soon as I can manage one and report back to this thread.

Solid info on the Mall scene. I'll have to start swinin' it over there again. And I'm sure I've been pinched by the Mall bulls at least once for approaching. I couldn't be sure, since when they descended on me, it was based on some bullshit pretext, but thinking on it later, it was quite possible that I had pissed someone off.

It went very well.

The girl was sitting on a bench. I sat beside her to finish a fake phone call. Spoke for 2 minutes in another language.

As soon as I was done I pretended to notice her for the first time and made some spontaneous comment. There was some presentation going on a few meters away, so I asked her about that.

From then on just rambled and we got talking. Since we had a good conversation, I told her I was on my way to get a coffee before sitting down anyway. Inviting her was natural. Seeing her a second time from there was easy.

Whenever you can you should go for an instadate, as long as it isn't contrived.

Sorta yes. The reason I say sorta is because Union Square in SF has a big shopping area in which there happens to be a big mall but outside that mall are other shopping areas as well. In the mall itself, no, but in that general shopping area, yes, many times. I've also used the Starbucks as an instadate spot and if Gio (or other SF cats are reading this) the Marriot Hotel across the street from that mall has a beautiful city view cafe at the very top that happens to serve $5 coffee (at least years ago when I lived in SF) so that's another good instadate spot.

Just like a club, you gotta know your logistics so if you're gonna do mall instadates, figure out good spots that are nearby your main fishing spots. The tiniest detail can affect the "adventure". In my case, the reason I preferred the Starbucks is because at night, it's in a slightly fancier area than this one street on the way to the Marriot Hotel. I remember having this nice initial instadate only to feel the vibe of the girl get slightly lower and weird as we walking on that street since it was more dark, some homeless ppl, low energy, even though on the very next street, was that cool city view spot. But had it been during the day, no problem.

Actually as I type this, there's another outdoor shopping mall that I was able to pull the girl back right away. I mention this because if there's an outdoor mall near you, try to hit that one up as based on my experience, the outdoor sun puts chicks in a better mood for adventure

an instadate in a mall?

I do insta-dates in the mall ONLY IF I SENSE THAT THE GIRL IS INTERESTED IN ME...

It usually works out well because I involve alcohol + fun!

Once the girl confirms that she is down to hang out for a while, I immediately go buy a bottle of wine and 2 large bottles of juice/sports drink... I transfer to wine into the juice bottles so that we can walk around and drink.

The dates usually go well.

(I keep a wine opener in my car)

Approaching at Malls

I recently started going to my mall to browse for chicks. I haven't really done any mall openers, I just use the pet shop opener as a default. Two days of about an hour being there. First day I approached around 10, and today I approached about 6-7. First day had only 1 conversation that lasted several minutes, how it went you can read here.

thread-14130...pid1599266

The second one. The first one was even worse and I don't even count it.

Today I had one nice conversation with a girl, the last one I opened today at the mall. She was very talkative, very open, but no personal question, even after several minutes, so I asked her where she was from and shortly after that she dropped the boyfriend line. I didn't know what to do so I politely said bye. Should have said something like "so he's the guy you're gonna marry" or something, like I've seen guys like Tom Torero doing.

So all in all not very much, but I've only started approaching a month ago and have only focussed on daygame for a week now. I'm sure I still have a lot to learn, but it's exciting nonetheless.
