Psssh, you really think seeing them get killed is going to change anything? Brian Nichols murdered 4 people after overpowering a tiny female officer in 2005 and ABC News came out with a gem of an article titled "Gender of Officer Not the Issue."

Quote:Quote:

Brian Nichols has been described as a large, strong, former linebacker.

He allegedly overpowered a female deputy who was escorting him to his rape trial at the Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta on March 11. He is accused of fracturing her skull, taking her gun and then killing four others -- three as he left the courthouse and another as he spent the night on the run.

Nichols is expected to appear in Fulton County Superior Court today for a hearing.

Could the alleged crime spree have been prevented if he had been escorted by a male deputy? Law enforcement experts and Nichols' own lawyer think not.

Barry Hazen, who represented Nichols in the rape case, told WSBTV in Atlanta that Nichols is a "big, strong guy. Even the larger deputies I don't think would be any match for Brian Nichols."

Cynthia Hall, the court deputy, is about 5 feet tall compared with Nichols, who is more than 6 feet tall and weighs more than 200 pounds. According to officials, Nichols attacked Hall when they stopped in a holding cell and she removed Nichols' handcuffs.

He then allegedly killed three others -- the judge presiding over his case, a court reporter and a deputy who confronted him as he fled the building. Later, Nichols killed a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, officials said. He was taken into custody the next morning after allegedly holding a woman hostage, then freeing her. She contacted police.

Experts say broader security weaknesses are at fault in this case rather than the sex or size of the deputy escorting the defendant. Days before, Nichols had been found with two homemade knives in his shoes when he was returned to the county jail, prompting the judge and prosecutors to request extra security.

However, authorities have said Nichols was not in handcuffs or shackles as he was being moved to the courtroom for fear of tainting the jurors.

"That was an inherently reckless and dangerous security situation," said George Kirkham, professor emeritus at the Florida State University School of Criminology and Criminal Justice and a former police officer. "No officer should be escorting a dangerous criminal by themselves.

"When you find people trying to smuggle knives, that's a huge flashing red light. There should have been more deputies guarding him," he said.

Most physical situations that a police officer gets in do not require "brute strength," according to Kirkham. It mostly comes down to speed, agility, the equipment on hand and training. [This quote nearly made me spit out my drink]

Margaret Moore, the director of the National Center for Women and Policing, denies that gender makes an officer more or less susceptible to assault or being overtaken by an inmate.

Acknowledging she had not read any official documentation of the Nichols incident, Moore's assessment matched that of Kirkham.

"It seems it was a procedural error. Man or woman, Nichols was not handled correctly," she said.

Moore explained that strength is relative -- a situation like this is not about gender, but about the strength of the officer, she said.

With the size difference between Hall and Nichols, it seems more manpower could have helped to prevent this situation.

Senior Superior Court Judge Philip F. Etheridge, calling for security reform, summed it up. "You don't put a grandmother in charge of a linebacker alone," he told the Los Angeles Times.

Not the First Time

In January 2004, a rookie officer at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Lewis let two inmates disguised as guards into the guards' watchtower.

Ricky Wassenaar and his cellmate Steven Coy, held two officers hostage. They let Jason Auch, the rookie, go after a week, but kept Lois Fraley as a hostage for 15 days -- raping, beating and starving her.

"Men get raped in prisons too," Moore said. Most of these situations stem from procedural or tactical mistakes, she said. "There is something to be learned out of all of these situations."

In a March 14 statement, Norman S. Fletcher, chief justice of the Georgia Supreme Court, acknowledged the needed security reforms. "If there is any good that can come from last Friday's tragic loss of life," he said, "it should be a renewed effort to safeguard the lives of the men and women who serve the people of this state at considerable risk to their own personal safety and well being."

So let's recap this:

1) The guy had a track record of violent behavior.

2) They found knives in his shoes days earlier and deemed him a security risk.

3) He was built like an NFL linebacker.

4) The geniuses in charge said, "Let's have a 5 ft tall female handle this violent criminal all by her lonesome. Sounds like a fabulous plan."

5) He beats her half to death, steals her gun, and murders 4 people, and these same fucking geniuses come to the conclusion that it was a failure in security procedures rather than the idiotic decision to have a tiny woman escort a large, violent man. You can't fix stupid.

That happened back in 2005 when the American people were still asleep. They are now woke, and shit like that will have serious consequences; judges impeached, politicians thrown out, etc.

Well, one thing I learned from this thread is the fact that the Swedish Police and Interpol need to put out an Ay-Pee-Bee stat searching for an International Australian Criminal going under many names and having many disguises, but sometimes known as 'Leonard D Neubache' - known to shit post on several forums of note - known to use subterfuge to gain entry (not just the back doors, but they will do if nothing else available), and not above a little 'blacking up' to change the complexion of his otherwise no doubt reddened pasty tone due to his being out all day in the midday sun hunting rogue kangaroos. He's only half a hop away.

Sweden you have been warned!

Keystone Cops eat your heart out.

...

They say that Great Britain will not be cowed, that we will not change our stoic ways, but it seems to me like the terrorists have already won when I see photos like this today in the Daily Fail:

What really struck me about this image was the lack of shoulder width of the female cop. I'm assuming they, xir, xer, wtf, are female. No offense intended. This is a genuine question.

Now, I'm not familiar with the rifles they are packing but I have a very rough idea of the punch they will pack when fired. Assuming that they have to draw weapons quickly, they aren't going to be holding the thing in one hand and just spraying and praying. I imagine they will put the butt to their shoulder, firmly, and pull the trigger.

And this is where I have a problem with this photo. That young lady on the right, doesn't seem to have any shoulder to put the butt in to. She has a vest that is right on her shoulder joint, and she has a very skinny arm that doesn't look like it would take the recoil from a what 5.54mm round? I really don't know. So I'm just asking a casual question: what sort of kick would that weapon give? How hard would it need to be shouldered not to get and nasty recoil? And just where in the world is she going to put it? It seems to me if she puts it squarely on her vest, then that will be a little too close to her central body to be comfortable. You know what I mean - those of you that have fired rifles with a bit of a kick. You don't place the butt on your right tit - there is a comfortable place right between the shoulder joint that the butt actually slots in to by memory muscle when you practice doing it a few times.

The big fella on her right, of course, would have no problem at all, and notice how is vest is tucked in itself so he has that very joint position available. That young lady tries to fire that gun, it's either going to knock her over if she puts it on her right tit, or it will dislocate her shoulder if she puts it on her arm. The vest just makes it more awkward again.

Perhaps someone will know what I am talking about. Or just say that I'm wrong in my assumption. It's been a long time since I fired a weapon.

Meanwhile, in other news, it seems like it's not just Leonard that has escaped the 'big zoo' down under. Paracelsus and AnonymousBosch have not been heard from in some time either.

Jesus Christ Sweden, you really have no idea of the sheer carnage that awaits you, do you?

[Females in Sweden at this point having a massive cat-fight to enroll in the Swedish Police Force - He's mine, NOO.. He's miine... Bitch.. I was fucking first, back of the queue - We'll track 'em down. "Lenny is mine, hands off" cried another - "I want Bosch" wailed the really big one - "I've always thought Paracelsus was a little misunderstood" chirped the sensitive one - like I said, sheer carnage.]

"Breaker Breaker. Charlie Foxtrot. Charlie Foxtrot. Do you read me over?"

'Affirmative Big Bear, we hear you'.

"There has been a major disturbance near a refugee centre on the outskirts of Malmo - nothing to worry your little pretty pink feathers over, but could you send a few female officers down there to check it out?"

'Will Lenny be there?'

"Negative Big Bear, whereabouts of the fugitive Leonard D Neubache, unknown at this present time".

'Oh shit, then you go girl, I'll just stay here and chew my Skol'

'Affirmative Big Bear, we will send someone over to deal with the situation'

"Ten Four Charlie Foxtrot. Over and Out"

20 minutes later. Scene of crime:

A Skoda with a flat tire. But no one around to witness what is about to happen next.

"G'day Sheilas, Heeeere's Lenny! And say hello to my leetle friends Bosch and Para!"

'Wait till I tell the girl's back in the station about this, they'll be so jelly'

'Lenny, can we take a couple of selfies just to show it really was you that attacked us?'

"Sure sport, knock yourself out"

A man can dream can't he?
