This reminded me of the bankrupcy of Celebrity Kim Basinger

Quote:Quote:

Buying the small town of Braselton, Georgia for $20 million, with the dream of turning it into a tourist attraction that featured movie studios and a film festival, was a massive failure for Kim Basinger. She became interested in the town while stuck in a traffic jam. She saw a sign that read: "Braselton: If You Lived Here, You'd Be Home by Now" and evidently there was no turning back. We've seen similar signs outside condos near packed freeways in Oakland, Calif., but have never thought of buying the entire city. After buying Braselton, Basinger told reporters, "Finally, here are some people who will know who's the boss."

Northeast Georgia is a long way from Hollywood, however, and Basinger's big plans never quite came together. In 1993, five years after she and her partners bought the town, she sold it for $1 million and later declared bankruptcy.

Braselton has a few luxury houses worth millions like this estate:

The problem however is that a town is not a money-making machine unless you own most real estate as well and can sell or lease it all, or you import your factories and create some kind of hub out of it.

Basinger probably thought on a coke-high:

"We will make this suburban town into a Hollywood indie-festival place! I will live in my palace and come down to the peasants occasionally and we will make tons of money, because a town makes lots of money!"

Nope - a town costs money and makes usually little. Ever wonder why the globalists never own entire towns? It is better for them to only influence processes like land allocations, real estate decisions - let the taxpayer pay for the burdensome upkeep and regulations.

I'm down. Won't have to worry about zoning laws and could both build and live in my own small factory.

What do you guys want to make?

Cars? Rockets? Motorcycles? Gas powered feminist dildos?

There are lots of ghost towns in Oregon, here is a map,
I guess this town will be on there in a few years:

Cascadia's backcountry has a lot of hippie communes, but the
eastern part (dry ranching land) is more conservative. One
very notorious Oregon commune was a new age hindu sex cult
that took over the small town of Antelope back in the 1980s
and changed its name to Rajneesh, their guru's name:

He took all their money and banged all the good-looking hippie
chicks. They always wore orange, gave all their money to their cult
leader Baghwan Rajneesh, who owned 93 Rolls Royces,
and drove away the locals. The commune grew from a hundred
idiots to two thousand zombies:

[Image: 8_America%E2%80%99s-most-dangerous-cult-768x509.jpg]

The cult leaders went scientology-like in going after their opponents (neighbors),
but they went too far when they tried to poison their water...

Would be amusing to rename the town "The White Ethno-State" and then sit back and watch as hordes of SJWs insist on moving there to defeat your evil racist plot, all the while they're the ones forcing themselves to live in some shitty little hillbilly town just to spite you.

@911

Actually, I think they tried to poison salad bars with salmonella, but close enough. They tried to kill original residents, and take over.

I think if I bought a town, and tried to make a fiefdom, I might take a page out of the Rajneesh playbook. His cult attracted a bunch of upper middle class people with money for the very reason that instead of promoting asceticism, he allowed total sexual license, but employing the hamsterese of *working through your sexual issues*.

This is pure genius from a branding point of view, and he was doing fine until he introduced all of the assault weapons and salmonella.

If you owned a town, and wanted to attract residents, without some sort of spiritual or sexual hook, it would be tough.

Also, there is something darkly ironic about trying to murder Oregonians by using their salad bars against them.

I would be such an effective cult leader if I was unethical.

It would be so easy to concoct a "spiritual" path that mixes actually effective exercises, my understanding of human nature and the weaknesses with the liberation of sexual limitations and thus "finding yourself" and experiences the enlightenment through sexual bliss.

As a cult leader I would make it a rule to fuck all the women under 30 - also daily mandatory group "therapy" sessions with the dear leader would be obligatory.

That is literally the best reason for owning a town, but nothing else beyond that.

Hey Kona,

How is it going with populating your land with productive RVF members?

So far, its a complete failure.

Regarding Oregon and mottos, I know a girl that has the Oregon motto tattooed in Latin "she flies with her own wing" and she gets child support. Oregon should change that or add "and SNAP and WIC" at the end.

Aloha!

This thread is delivering in a serious way.

911's pictures of that crazy cult are insane, and Zel is correct in saying that if guys like us were willing to abuse the concept of spirituality then we could build some seriously successful followings.

...game level 1 million.

Who knows what kind if insane society someone like Roosh could build if he went off the deep end!

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

Dude! The Rajneeshis were everywhere in the eighties, with their signature magenta saris.

Best cult of all time because rampant sex was encouraged as a transcendent practice. Doctors, lawyers, professionals dropped their whole lives to follow the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, and give him their money.

Even when I left California in my early twenties I found them all over the world, enticing me in Ireland, or running a 6 dollar a night hostel on a barge in Amsterdam with a sex den, I mean dormitory, where men and women slept in the same room and together, and you couldn't sleep for the moans.

Spiritual bitches everywhere:

Dude was the spiritual player supreme. The only value of growing up in California at the time was that I had seen so many spiritual scammers by the time I came across him, I saw him for what he was.

His books, available in many college libraries were a sad amalgam of all sorts of esoteric traditions cobbled together seemingly by whim.

You could look into his eyes though and see he was a psycho:

He was rebranded later as Osho, and is taken seriously to this day, though if you are going to take him seriously, it should be in the way you take Edward Bernays seriously, as a master propagandist. Or as a collector of Rolls Royces, he had a shit load.

Good doc here about how they took over a town and started trying to kill non adherents. Read as inspiration or a heads up about how not to be gulled by the faux spiritual:

Anyway, if you were to buy a town, and try to run as you saw fit, you would learn a lot from the dude.
