Mom breaks multiple laws to increase 8-year-old son's Youtube fame

As part of a Youtube video, she puts her son and his friend into a pickup truck bed with a soup of 1 million plastic balls and drives around the street, almost throwing them out. When that fun is over, she dumps all the balls directly onto the street. She was charged with child endangerment and illegal dumping.

Quote:Quote:

It starts with the boy’s mother, whom Corona police Sgt. Paul Mercado identified as 45-year-old Holly Piazza, and a couple of family friends. Early on in the video, the woman says, “So we’ve been over here brainstorming … and we don’t know what to do with a million Orbeez.”

“We’ve stored some in some trash cans to play with, so, um, Rocco, we’re gonna go illegal for the first time, huh?” she says, turning to the boy.

She encourages the viewer to subscribe to see the “really illegal” activity they’re about to perform. Then the truck dumps presumably a million Orbeez onto the city streets.

There is no obvious sign of a father. She appears to be grooming her boy to be the next Steve O.

Based on the Social Blade stats and an estimated earnings of $1/cpm, the channel earns at least $25,000 a month. How much of that goes to the boy is unknown.

Orbeez are superabsorbent polymers that means they are made of several smaller molecules joined together. With the addition of water they can grow to more than 100 times their volume. That's right, place a tiny Orbeez bead in water and watch it swell and grow! Orbeez will grow to 19-13 mm (1/4- ½ in).The water is absorbed into the spaces between the molecules. These polymers were invented for agricultural use back in the 1960s to irrigate crops during times of drought. Today you will find superabsorbent polymers in diapers to prevent leaks, in food packages to absorb liquid and in floral vases to hydrate cut flowers.

Each packet of Orbeez contains approximately 150 Orbeez and will yield approximately 3/4 cup of grown Orbeez after the addition of water. Empty one packet of Orbeez into a bowl and add 1.5 cups of clean, drinking water. Leave Orbeez to soak for at least 3 hours or overnight. Once fully grown Orbeez will be round and uniform in color. Drain excess water using a strainer or your hand. Orbeez will grow to about 100-300 times their original volume. The purer the water the larger they grow. Grown Orbeez will maintain their shape for weeks if kept in a closed container, away from heat and light. If Orbeez lose water, simply add more water to regrow.

Going Green Dispose of Orbeez in the trash or even better, work them into your yard soil. Orbeez help soil stay moist and reduce the need for watering. After all, they were developed by the agricultural industry to protect crops during times of drought. Today, superabsorbent polymers, from which Orbeez are made are often planted under the sod of golf courses to keep them green and reduce water usage.

Shoving plastics into crop soil... what could go wrong?

I don't think judges are aware yet of how much money these YouTube channels bring in. I don't think even regular people understand the reality of how much money is going in.

If they did, i'm certain judges would weigh those ill gotten gains into the punishment.

I feel like there should be more amusing interpretations of "eye for an eye" enforced. Like, if you randomly dump plastic balls onto the street, you have to eat every single one of them. Twice. Or if you endanger children by driving them around corners in a bath, we'll get children to drive you around corners in a bath.

The frivolity of modern life is something that truly disgusts me. This comic sums it up.

Modern technology and wealth have created some truly cool innovations: there was a guy who flew a camera up outside of the atmosphere on a model rocket, and then retrieved it. There's the 'batman' suits that allow you to skim through the air like a flying squirrel. And then there's assholes like this, and garbage like silly string.

I also gotta agree on Roosh with the irresponsibility implicit in this product.

That sounds like Hazmat to me, not going green. The irony being that these assholes (they're in California, after all) are the sort of people who want to make it more difficult for regular people to drive older vehicles - vehicles which have already paid for their environmental impact through usage.

Look Aurini, I can see why you don't like silly string and noisy shiny crap, but can you really argue with fireballs from your hand?

The way I'd be scribe the orbeez chair is beans without the bag.

I've had two tenants now who's kids flushed these things into the septic. Sad.

Trump needs to make these Orbeez illegal. Its my opinion that the manufacturer of the chemicals that make orbeez possible is in bed with the plumbing industry. (((They))) probably have massive interests on both sides.

I'll admit, the orbeez chair is comfy, but just get your kids a standard bean bag. These things are not toys.

Aloha!

Dad was probably at work trying to pay for their McMansion and the wife's retarded spending.

I would be beyond pissed if some cretin dumped slimy plastic onto my car, or I had to drive through it behind her. This lady is the reincarnate of the mom that buys drugs/alcohol for their children so she can be labeled the "hip cool mom," while subsequently setting her kids up for a life of personal and legal difficulties.

She's an utter moron for pulling a dangerous stunt especially considering her son is only 8 years old to become youngest Steve-o.
