Insecurity: Own your imperfections

This video moved me and I wanted to share it. While the merits and methods of RSD are often debated on this forum, I think Owen talks about some issues here that hold a lot of men (including myself) back - namely, insecurities.

What is your deepest insecurity? Lack of money or professional success? A weird accent? Being fat? Bald? Short? Old? What would happen if you approached a girl and she immediately rejected you because of your primary insecurity - and told you to your face?

If you said you would cry (or some other extreme butthurt reaction), you're not accepting your own imperfections. Owen talks about Julian mocking his baldspot and shortness to girls while he's trying to pick them up. How would you react if your wing did that to you? Your reaction says a lot about your level of self acceptance.

I believe our demons are only as strong as their secretiveness. I respect Owen for coming out and saying exactly what his insecurities are in front of hundreds of people. In doing that, he makes them far less powerful. Have you admitted your insecurities to yourself or even people close to you? I believe that's the first step.

One of the thing not often talke about in game is figuring out your demons.
We all made our way here because of something and sometimes those demons don't just go away after we bang 100's of girls.

I know for myself I recently had to face a few of them.

My teeth.

I neglected to brush my teeth daily when I was younger .it didn't help that I had a sweet tooth so my shits are yellow and I need two removed.

I'm thinking about getting dentures but at the moment I don't have the money for it.

I highly recommend cosmetic surgery in some cases. I had my ears pinned back about ten years ago. The benefits were priceless. I would never have been able to attract the women I wanted. My jug ears were an aesthetic nightmare and a horrible blight on my self-esteem for the first 30 years of my life.

Could you share more about the difference you noticed?

I have huge ears myself and part of me says, this could make a big difference – other part says I’m just hoping for an “easy fix”.

Do it, and don't even think about it. Just make sure you've done your research and picked a surgeon that you trust (recommendation from your doctor is a good start).

Here in the UK it's relatively cheap (about 2k) and quick, but you'll have to take at least 10 days off work after because you have to wear this massive turban around your head for a week. At least I did. I had the operation about 10 years ago. Make sure your surgeon's method ensures they won't pop back out again in a few years.

It's a real relief when you get it done. I could have tried to come to terms with it, but to be honest, spending 2k and one week of downtime to recuperate was more than worth the trouble.

I had otoplasty done at 15, my ears were looking like satellite dishes. I actually thought about suicide because of the constant teasing I had to endure.

Kids and teenagers can be monsters...
