"The Spider" returned to the Octagon after one of the most gruesome injuries the sport has ever seen when he defeated Nick Diaz via unanimous decision at UFC 183 last month. In what was supposed to be a historic night for mixed martial arts (MMA), turned out to be one of the biggest black eyes in the sport's young history when it was revealed Silva had tested positive for drostanolone and androstane in a pre-fight UFC 183 drug test.

In conclusion, hopefully the reader can see that Steroids is just a general term and it really depends on what kind of Steroid is used to get a certain effect. Most steroids can improve an athletes performance by either adding more muscle and therefore can make them stronger (Anabolic Steroids) or by helping speed the healing process ( Corticosteroids). And then there is HGH which is not a steroid but still can keep an athletes muscle and bone in more pristine condition and can also aid on healing the tissue.

Who has experience healing broken bones and/or damaged joints with steroids?

What was the injury? What did you use? How long was recovery?

A little bit of deca can work wonders for your joints.

Be careful using corticosteroid injections. They can produce skin atrophy as a side effect. So, unless you're comfortable with the idea of a depression/sunken spot on your skin, I'd advise against them.

It's like this. From what I understand deca helps produce more synovial fluid to help cushion your joints. This goes away when you come off the deca, it's not a permanent fix.

If you grind very hard in the gym (like a competitive bodybuilder or powerlifter) you are going to get some creaky joints. Then again most people look and feel like shit as they age anyway, so I'm not sure it's not just a part of the human condition. Carrying far more body weight than you were intended to and using your body as a fork lift on a daily basis will have that effect. My joints are shot but running some test and a little deca helps me feel like I didn't fight Jon Jones last night.

There have been some posts recently that suggest some guys on testosterone don't know as much as they should and some of the most knowledgeable forum members on this topic are not posting much in this thread. I've discussed this with several forum members who agree.

Hormones aren't something to play around with and unfortunately most doctors are idiots when it comes to TRT. For example, this is a good post from the t-nation forums and the abbreviations section includes "idiot - see doctor". MikeCF also talks about this in one of his podcasts.

I think there are two good options. One option is to use a well know doctor who specializes in TRT such as Defy Medical or Dr. John Crisler.

Another option is to be your own doctor but it requires more research than most guys seem to realize hence some of the odd questions and comments that sometimes come up in this thread. There are many good resources where guys can learn more about this topic. I've listed a few below. I am not affiliated with anyone or any website I'm linking to in this post.

Maybe you can look at SARMS: These are substances that have similar effects as steriods but with lesser side effects. Ostarine is knows for improving bones, joints and tendons. I am considering getting ostarine for a shoulder injury but am still doubting it. If you google a little bit you can find that it helped a lot of people.

Thanks for the advice Midnight Cowboy.

I only know about Ostarine because of Victor Pride & John Doe's Company- Red Supplements and their product Osta-Red is now discontinued.

With every decision the Pros & Cons must be considered. I will keep in mind what will be lost and what will be gained.
