I just booked a two week vacation to Thailand... What should I know?

Recently got laid off from my job, so I bought a $600 RT ticket to Bangkok by myself for 2 weeks (2 mo severance plus 3 mo of savings. Already interviewing, not worried about when I get back).

I know nothing of the area. Can someone enlighten me on the area? Anything I should do while I'm there besides chase women and go out every night getting drunk?

If anyone wants to meet up I'd be happy to meet up with cool people.

What prompted you to buy a ticket to go there?

My friend, who is extremely risk adverse went recently and highly advised it. Plus I have had other friends go.

I needed a vacation and this was the craziest place I could go that was neither horribly expensive or horribly dangerous.

I know a lot of people on this board have visit SE asia.

So you couldn't be bothered to do even cursory research about the place across the world you bought a ticket to (but's it's "crazy"), and now after the fact you still don't want to put in any effort to type in 4 words in search and want someone to tell you what to do in Thailand.

There are thousands of posts on Thailand here.

Off to a great start.

Look, none of us here have any problem with sharing our knowledge - the mere existence of this forum is proof of that.

We're not trying to be dicks bud, but some minimal effort is required- especially when you're asking about a location that has been covered from every possible angle on the forum, let alone on the web in general.

Here's a thread on the first page of the Travel section:

The Bangkok Thread: thread-32193.html

Take some time and look through that, search for others, and jump in and ask about some things you can't find.

Good luck on your trip man

Watch the movie The Hangover II. Everything you need to know is right there. Be sure to pronounce Thailand correctly like he does during the wedding toast scene.
But seriously have a great time there. I wish I was going too. I have a girl there I skype with and would love to meet her. No you can't have her number.

One of the hottest girls I ever seen was in Bangkok. Then she pulled out a 10 inch cock.

Goodluck with that.

If you go, I recommend staying at Aloft in Sukhumvit.

My advice is take a short commuter to Phuket to get a sleeve done for about 1000- 1500 bucks. I can recommend some people.

Make a bit of research, we have several Thailand threads in the travel forum. We can't book your vacation for you, but if you're looking for quick tips, Tinder works well. You obviously won't get "proper" girls without proof of ties (no pun intended) but you can get some quick lays with Tinder, or the bar scene if that's your thing.

Beware though, the top and bottom do not always match. I speak from experience.

Make a budget for the trip and follow it.

Spend 3 days in Bangkok self destructing then go Island hopping, living the good life on coconut water & BBQ fish.

Here are some ideas for Google search:

1: 10 things not to do in Thailand
2: Basic rules for traveling in Thailand
3: Most common scams in Thailand
4: How to meet Thai women
5: How to not die in Thailand

I'm not trying to be rude. I will gladly help you if you are a little bit more specific. What do you want us to do? Write you a book to enlighten you? There are already a millions blogs out there that write everything you need to know about Thailand.

Most likely you are going to want to skip your return flight. Unfortunately since you weren't planning on doing this you will only have 30 day visa on arrival. So at the end of the first month try to make your way towards Cambodia or Laos were you can explore for a while and hit up the embassy where you can get a 60 day multi-entry tourist visa, then head back to Thailand. Air Asia offers cheap round trip flights to the surrounding countries as well, so you could even get this done quickly in a few days if you want.

Could be possible. Maybe i'll find an American firm in Thailand and convince them to pay me American wages.
