Here in South America, I sometimes find myself in a rut with night game.
5'11, 22 years old, newbie at game, decent at Spanish, Latino, Dominican guy, from the States. Just finished my time in the Navy. Decided to start traveling South America *8 months* for the sake of practicing my Spanish, take some guitar lessons over Brazil, visit the Carnaval, and enjoy the overall Hispanic culture of South America.

Will go to Colombia and Brazil later on.
Worth it! Have had some hiccups here and there, only because of the solo traveling but no problems with being robbed. Locals in each country have taken me around their city, given me advice and pay for my transportation or food *aww come on, you don't have to do that!*
My Spanish gets worse with the amount of English I start speaking to people in hostels, probably would be best if I stay in one country just to immerse myself in the language.
Heading out to clubs, they felt tough when I was in Argentina. Remembered when I was in Mendoza, I went out with my Couchsurfing host and a group of friends. He would approach a girl and in two minutes, I see him making out with them. Sometimes I wonder if all I do is get caught up talking to a girl in the club. Dancing to reggeton with a girl then feeling like my moves are stale after dancing for 30 minutes. My Bachata is good and salsa is alright.
Most of the approaches I did in clubs were solo. Knowing me, four months ago, I didn't think it was necessary having a wingman to help me approach. Some Argentinean girls don't even believe I'm from New York lol.
In Chile, I didn't explore much of the nightlife. I did go to a desert party in San Pedro de Atacama but it was more of "just hanging out with friends" night. In Santiago, had only one night at a club inside a hotel. Met two girls inside the club and asked if the place was popular at night since it was only them two *it was early, didn't feel like it at 11pm*. Great conversation we had, as all they did was explain the culture of Chile to me. Improvising some moves while dancing to pop songs. Then, one of the two girls was asking if I stayed at the hotel but kept saying that I stayed over another part of the city. Even was wondering about going to Bellavista after this club. I suggested that we stay. Started to die down as we kept dancing and when I tried to invite them to go out, one of the girls said no. Have had luck in daygame with a German girl but with the Chilean girl... wasn't interested in the ONS after the date, even though we kept making out, walking through the late night streets of Valparaiso. Kept making excuses like getting to work at 9am and it was 1am lol.
Then there's Bolivia. Sucre, Bolivia had some cute Bolivian girls, in the hostel Kerberlin (a combination of a hostel/club/restaurant). Yet I was with a girl from Spain, doing studying aboard in Buenos Aires. After kissing her, I suggested to go somewhere else but she didn't want to leave her friend, a guy in the same city as her in Spain. In La Paz, met some cute Bolivian girls at a club and in the hostel (they were from Santa Cruz) but not much coming from them. Just the occasional hand slide away, after trying to dance with a girl. Enjoyed my time in La Paz though, my Argentinean wingman helped me with the Netherlands girl I was with by talking to her friend *he wasn't interested in her but wanted to help, as she was trying to cockblock*. Damn Bolivian food got to me, so I couldn't go out and help him out.
Peru left a good impression on me, despite giving me a fake 100 Soles bill and the ATM eating my credit card in Cusco (Always have another credit card in case, Mastercard and Visa). Wild Rover, crazier party hostel than Loki, talked to a Peruvian girl who went to Chicago for a year, then we all go to a club called Changos. Free bus ride to Changos. Kissed her but she didn't want to leave her friend and sister *my god*. We saw each other later on, she worked at the hostel. Even though I fucked her, she wasn't too comfortable with the accomodation. To find a private room at some cheap hotel *$15*. Don't know what to do with that...
Also in Mancora, approached groups of girls, without a wing and danced with them through the night. My first night in the city, I met two Peruvian girls from the city Piura and the beach party I met them at, ended at 3am. Asked where I stayed and said it was far (a block away on the same road we were walking on) from where we were walking lol.
Second night, met a girl from the US and another from Chile. We went out to the beach party, danced for two hours then decided to go and chat with some other girls. Felt like it wasn't going to go anywhere, as I tried to kiss both of them.
Now in Montanita, Ecuador. Started on Wednesday, going with my wing from Holland, opened up to three girls at the street, one from Ecuador and the two from Chile, then went to Cana grill for some karaoke *only five people, including me singing*. He had better luck than me, he talked to the Ecuadorian girl and arranged a date with another one while dancing. I wasn't interested in the Chilean girls, still talked to them and help him out. I talked to the bartender, an Argentinean girl living in Montanita, before and after my karaoke performance.
Arranged a date with her on Friday but after Thursday night, seeing her with another guy at a restaurant, I didn't expect much response on Friday. "This person isn't receiving any messages from you now" through Messenger. Kinda bummed out but moving on anyways.
Two nights later, I wasn't having any progress but over the past days, I saw girls stare at my wing by the street.
We went into Cana Grill on a Friday Night, saw another girl looking at my wingman but he's not interested. He says I'm the better dancer and I'll get her attention better than he can, because he says he can't dance. I tell my wing, "Watch man, nothing is going to happen, I'll dance with this girl and then she'll start dancing with you".
I move up to her, grab her hand, it slowly slips off but I turn her body to keep the move going. She backs up to my wing and starts grinding on him. "See! Told you man." Actually didn't intend that to happen but I was confused. He was probably more confused than I was. The blond and blue eyes takes the icing on the cake.
Met an Argentinean girl at a late night club on Saturday. Danced with her, kept my eye contact with her, tried to kiss her but she shies away, no luck. Tried again after three songs, nope. Was talking to her at the bar and then her guy friend comes over. Introduces me a light conversation about difference in Chile and where I've gone. I closed him off from her but he kept coming back. She asks me where I'm staying, while her friend makes a joke having to do with me looking at the wristband *some hostels give one for security*. Tried to kiss her again and nothing. Decided to walk away and find someone else. Felt exhausted while I was there and I went back to the hostel at 7am.
I've had better luck with foreign girls than the ones here in South America but sometimes I wonder.... talking about something other than "Oh, where are you going next? What are you doing next? Did you go to school? How was the military?" informational talk, I hate it when they ask me what I think about the US politics because I don't follow up with that....
Then there's resistance some girls that some give off and asking about the place I'm staying. That was what I was wondering about the most.
I heard South American guys are aggressive at their approach as well. Does this have anything to do with this?
