A DP (director of cinematography) I worked with was from Romania. Very talented guy.

He dated one of the girls in their major acting school (I'm guessing it is run by the state). Said that they were encouraged by their teachers to all fuck each other -- boys with girls, girls with girls, boys with boys. Shower together and live with one another, being naked often, etc. So they could be totally open with each other and always feel comfortable doing anything on stage and be able to put their own feelings on hold to surrender to the moment.

On one hand, I see how that would work and be helpful. There is nothing worse than a fridged actor who is unwilling to properly play romantic with their co-star. But on the other hand you can see how taking an already overly emotional attention whore personality with a proclivity to ignore reality, and then breaking them even further to de-personalize the wonderful and joyous acts of love and sex... would produce some of the mindsets we often observe in performers.

They are essentially prostitutes, absolutely.

I believe that is why you see the more normal ones as being the guys/gals who just play "types". They pretty much play themselves over and over, and we love it because they are interesting people. But they rarely win awards or become as celebrated as their chameleon peers. Yet they maintain a bit of their humanity.

Our morality isn't the primary mover in making a good actor. Do you have a counterpoint to make beyond the meme?

You're implying that an actor that can't fuck another man is going to be a bad actor?

This is a prime example of cultural engineering, they are destroying these actors that are willingly submitting to their sexual debasement agendas, and removing from them any sense of decency that they might have had before going through this process.

I know you mean well, but frankly, it's kind of sad that I have to spell this out for you.

I'm not trying to step in and speak for the man but I guess I definitely see his point with this, especially since I didn't take what he said to mean that an actor who doesn't fuck another man is going to be a bad actor. I took his original statement (the one you bolded) to mean that it would technically accomplish the goal of making actors comfortable with one another. I mean, granted, it's akin to burning down your house to kill off a roach infestation in that surely there's more reasonable methods. But I saw the point nonetheless and didn't think he was saying that was the only way to become a good actor.

And let's be honest - your average actor (especially ones who attending "acting school") are at minimum half-fags as it is. His example wasn't exactly pillars of masculinity being coerced into gay shit in the name of the arts - it was more like a bunch of already likely sexually ambiguous hedonists being advised and taught by sexually ambiguous hedonists. It's not exactly like a foreman making iron workers bone each other to establish trust and camaraderie, is it?

There's plenty of places that seeing homosexuality normalized and celebrated should be cause for concern. For actors in an acting school, the ship sailed probably somewhere around the height of ancient Greece.

Celebrities Call For ‘Total Hollywood Strike’ Until Trump Resigns

A group of liberal Hollywood celebrities are threatening a “massive, all-round Hollywood strike” unless Donald Trump resigns. Describing Hollywood as “the base of the entire modern American culture“, the group also claims to be speaking on behalf of “all of humanity.”

It’s about time people understood that we’re the ones with the power and that the president is there to serve us, not the other way around“, a spokesperson for the group told The New York Times.

“We’re calling for a general strike that would include every single person involved in making motion pictures in Hollywood, starting with the actors and celebrities themselves and encompassing companies in charge of making props, movie memorabilia and even souvenir shops.”

Spinzon reports: Rosie O’Donnell, Debra Messing, Ed Asner and Michael Shannon are among the dozens of artists, entertainers, and activists who have attached their names to an effort calling for a month-long protest to stop President-elect Donald Trump.

“No! In the Name of Humanity We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!” reads a full-page ad placed in the New York Times on Wednesday by the group Refuse Racism. “Donald Trump, the President-elect, is assembling a regime of grave danger,” the ad says.

“Millions of people in the US and around the world are filled with deep anxiety, fear and disgust. Our anguish is right and just. Our anger must now become massive resistance – before Donald Trump is inaugurated and has the full reins of power in his hands.”

Other Hollywood celebrities who have also joined the campaign, however, are calling for an all-out strike that would span the entire movie industry in the hopes that such a move would urge the President-elect to resign from his position as the newly elected President of the United States.

“We’re calling for a general strike that would include every single person involved in making motion pictures in Hollywood, starting with the actors and celebrities themselves and encompassing companies in charge of making props, movie memorabilia and even souvenir shops,” a spokesperson for the Refuse Racism group told The New York Times. “It’s about time people understood that we’re the ones with the power and that the president is there to serve us, not the other way around.”

Asked to elaborate on why the group is targeting Hollywood out of all the industries in the country as their bargaining chip, the spokesperson argued that Hollywood “is, simply put, the base of the entire modern American culture. It is the foundation of the country, so to speak, the glue that’s holding it together. And think about what happens when you destroy the foundation of a house. It comes crashing down, right? Well, that’s exactly what’s going to happen to America unless Donald Trump realizes how real the danger of that actually is, and chooses to step down as President of his own free will. And while we’re on the subject, between you and me – nobody wants Hollywood to stop doing its thing, but this is a necessary move.”

“Besides, it’s not like the billionaire-businessman-turned-president hasn’t ventured into movies in his day, right? So, he’ll understand firsthand what’s going to happen if Hollywood goes to strike. Without the work of Hollywood and the lifestyle promoted by it, there will literally be no more America to rule for Trump. So, in effect, it’s not us that are going to force Donald Trump to resign his office; it’s the people of America who are going to make him do it, because the God’s honest truth is – without Hollywood, there is no America. It’s like trying to run Nazi Germany without Hitler at the forefront – it just becomes pointless,” the spokesperson concluded.

A strike will only hurt the little people in Hollywood like the gaffers, carpenters, electricians, etc. Let the elite strike. More money for real Americans to spend and invest elsewhere. They are just attention whores, don't think we'll see a strike soon.

I know you mean well, but frankly, it's kind of sad that I have to spell this out for you.

I wasn't implying anything; I meant what I wrote very clearly.

Encouraging them to all be naked around one another and fuck one another would certainly make them more comfortable with each other and would numb the more personal feelings.

That would make them more versatile and/or malleable actors, from the point of view of a director.

And as the poster above me pointed out, the actors are already half destroyed and quite willing to dive headlong into the other half.

It seems like you read my statement as a standalone positive value judgement. Re-read what I wrote again -- by doing A you would accomplish B. I didn't say it was the best or the only way, I said it works.

It also potentially gives some insight as to why so many of these actors would be so horrified at Trump and anyone else who "judges" (as if we don't all judge). They are so far gone in the other direction.

But let's not make the same mistake as our political enemies and imagine they are all 100% devil or Manchurian candidate. A lot of their choices were made to become better actors. This more than likely came at a great cost.

If you're looking for some kind of ethical standing, I agree with you -- it is ghastly. Yet ghastly things can have the intended long term effect. This is part of the red pill, no?

Sadly, you're probably right at least so far as Hollywood is concerned.

New York Times doesn't make any references to this strike by Hollywood. When you Google "Refuse Racism organisation" it doesn't turn up any results at all.

Indeed I'd thought that last, hilarious line, that supposedly without Hollywood there is no America, that it's like running Nazi Germany without Hitler, was the punchline to an epic troll by 4chan. Amazingly, though, it probably isn't, given what I found after a little clicking around.

Refuse Fascism is where the ad comes from, not Refuse Racism. The ad that apparently appeared in the 4 January 2017 edition of the NYT is on that site. The site itself is the usual leftie firehose of tears and insanity, but particularly laughable is that they keep calling for a "month of action" whose starting date keeps shifting around. Originally the month of action started on 19 December, i.e. the day the Electoral College voted; now the month of action, according to that flier, starts on 14 January. Browsing around there you get a growing sense of desperation by the college kids and community organisers who set the site up as one event after another goes pretty much untouched. You also get the usual demands for people to do shit without being paid for it.

The list of signatories to this thing is hilarious: everyone from former Black Panthers and the founder of the American Communist Party are in this one, along with Debra Messing, Ed Asner and a cast of other E-list people I wouldn't really call celebrities.

The only art-ish strike that's being weakly put together is the "Art Strike", a supposed "show of force" by 130 (130, count 'em, out of 200 million Americans) people to ask museums, galleries, concert halls, art schools and nonprofit institutions to close on inauguration day. Unfortunately, the Met has said it'll be open for business as usual, and this shit is going nowhere as well.

"We are committing to ending this evil misogynist racist president by taking our ball and going home!"

California needs another 8.0+ quake like yesterday. Let's take a look at some of these 'celebrities':

Rosie O'Donnell: I didn't even have pubic hair the last time she was relevant (I'm in my 30's).
Debra Messing: ...who?
Michael Shannon: ...who?
Ed Asner: 500 years old.
Amy Schumer: B-list manatee who is being rammed hard but really she's just not that talented. My mother likes her, that's how I know she sucks.
George Clooney: Man, I am let down. I never agreed with your identity politics, but at least you used to be a model banging, hard partying playboy, so I could have respected you, at least. You haven't made a good movie since 2007 and I hope your past-wall wife divorce rapes you.
Meryl Streep: You hate the Donald because he wants to build a wall to keep illegal immigrants out of America but you live in Connecticut, the richest and whitest state in America, you hypocrite.

All Hollywood does are remakes and superhero movies that have all the mythology and character development pre-fabricated anyways.

Yeah, Hollywood is going to shut down to make a point...not. Do these B to Z listers really think that their identity politics matters more than the money they generate? Identity politics IS money. No way this will happen, but I'd love to see it.

"Sorry Mr President, but without Transformers 17 and another shitty remake of a classic we can't keep the country going. The country is in turmoil, the economy has crashed there are riots in the streets, because people can't survive without their dose of Michael Bay explosions and cookie-cutter rom-coms. Please step down, sir."

I thought actors were entertainers? As in they're suppose to entertain us with their acting ''performances''. The moment they diverge from entertaining and begin to spout their cookie cutter, self serving political views I lose interest. I guess what I'm trying to say is an actor, an entertainer, is the last person I'm going to look to for political insight or what have you. They should stick to entertaining us, make us laugh, make us cry, make us aroused. An entertainer failing do to those three is an entertainer not doing their job. You know what happens when I don't do my job? I lose it.

Streep destroyed Anna Wintour with how she depicted her in that movie. Wintour, from what I understand, is a huge Hillary supporter. So, it could be that Streep feels pressure to stridently act out on her Clinton support as recompense.

Might be similar to Jonathan Demme, director of Silence of the Lambs. He was stung by criticism of having the villain be a gay transsexual so as an apology he made that melodramatic anti-AIDS movie Philadelphia.

"Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. If you kick 'em all out, you'll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts."

What makes this statement even more ridiculous is the fact that the art that came out of Hollywood was was MUCH better when there were less foreigners and outsiders. Were not the great movies of the silver screen era, or classic westerns, Roman epics, produced when Hollywood was much less diverse? Is Streep completely discounting all those movies, that entire era? Even the Star Wars series that made Carrie Fischer (Princess Leia as she's known to Streep, good friend that she was of hers...) famous were made in a much less "diverse" creative atmosphere. It was certainly more masculine though...

I like to dispute this claim: List of Jewish actors. Russian Americans. German Americans. Greek Americans. Hungarian Americans.

The lists are full of actors/comedians/celebrities from various European countries. Hollywood was always full of foreigners. Hollywood was built by foreigners.

I am afraid that women appreciate cruelty, downright cruelty, more than anything else. They have wonderfully primitive instincts. We have emancipated them, but they remain slaves looking for their masters all the same. They love being dominated.
