Regarding the cab thing- missing turns, getting "lost", etc, that seems to happen more often then not. My friend tells them straight up at the beginning that he has lived in Medellin more than a year and says that helps. We had a guy in Pereira this weekend straight up refuse to drive is because we were gringos. I dunno man, I know some people come down here on savings and have to be frugal, but it's such a dick move to not just give these girls the 5,000-10,000 pesos ($1.75 - $3.50 USD) to bounce in a taxi.
