A guy wrote a post on Quora debunking a video by that same YouTuber claiming Michelle Obama is a man. Just swap Michelle Obama with Serena Williams and the same logic applies.

1. PREAMBLE

The narrator's i.e. CastleJen Bassett's (from here onwards abbreviated CJB) arguments are wholly based on pictures and physical characteristics. Very basically, inferring solely based on these physical characteristics are not in any way solid proof. If there was a bare photo of a penis attached, that would be strong proof at best. However, we only saw glimpses and an unfortunate folding of clothes (blown by the wind or something).

Here's an example. I'm a scrawny fellow, have a smooth/pretty face, have an index finger longer than my ring finger, and my personality is quite effeminate/soft-spoken. Am I a woman, I wonder. I take a look down there, and wahey! I have a penis and testes. Now, that makes me (to a first approximation) a male. I do a checkup, and yes indeed, I do have the full set of male organs (testes, seminal vesicles, vas deferens) and do not have a trace of the female reproductive system.
It is possible to have both male and female systems. So, for the sake of the argument, we shall assume that CJB means that Michelle Obama has the full set of male sex apparatus, and no ovaries and vagina.

It is possible that CJB has not considered any other possibilities which can produce those physical characteristics that she observed. Before I begin, I would like to assume a few things for the sake of argument:

Assumptions (which mainly assume that CJB's observations are real)
- Those pictures were not altered/photoshopped in any way
- Michelle Obama does display those characteristics if we watch the news, see her in person, etc.

2. SEX DETERMINATION


Okay enough with the preamble. Are we all set? Great. Now let's begin with a primer as to how we get our sex.


Sex Determination 101

1. What determines your physiological sex?
Generally speaking, the Y chromosome. But it is not an absolute thing. What determines the physiological sex of a person is the presence of the Testis determining factor gene (SRY gene) which is located ON the Y chromosome. There are some cases where the gene has translocated onto another chromosome, so you may end up with an XX male.

Here we have a nice diagram illustrating this.


Essentially, with the SRY gene turned on, we develop the organs on the left side of the diagram. If it's turned off, we develop as per the right side.

Now bear in mind, these are all internal features.


2. What about the physical (observable) characteristics, then?
So all the evidence that CJB presented was based on physical characteristics. These are known as the Secondary sex characteristics. A male secondary sex characteristics develop due to the action of testosterone. You gain muscle, a masculine physique, hair, and of course, a penis and the testes grow outwards.

Great, now can this happen to a female? Yes indeed! An excess of testosterone or other androgens in a female will evoke masculine characteristics in the female. Such a pathological condition is Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, where excess androgen production leads to development of masculine secondary sex characteristics.


Still with me so far?
In short:
- Our gonads are determined by our genes
- Our physical characteristics are determined by hormones
and upon this I will now break down CJB's arguments.

3. MY REBUTTAL

Let's first go over the main points to remind ourselves what was brought up by CJB.
1. Hands: Ring finger is longer then index finger
2. Shoulders: Broad
3. Physical proportions: More V-shaped than 'pear'(?) shaped
4. Male anatomy: Adam's Apple
5. A possible penis/groin cup
6. Facial expressions: frowning makes the face look.. manly(?)


As I just mentioned, excess androgen production will lead to the development of the secondary sex characteristics. Let's pick those out.. Hmm.. that appears to be. Wait a sec.. ALL OF THEM!!


#1: Hands and the digit ratio
There has been some correlation between the sex of a person and the digit ratio. And as we have alluded to just now, physical characteristics are controlled by hormones. Interestingly, this link still appears to remain a correlation and there has not been any causal evidence yet.

So NO. Just because Michelle Obama has a longer ring finger than the index finger does not mean that she is a male.

#2, 3, 6: Broad shoulders, physical proportions, and face
Right. Once again, we have androgens to the rescue! The more androgens we have, the 'buffer' we are. Those gains are what female bodybuilders aim to achieve and so take testosterone.

Remember when I said that even the penis development is due to testosterone? Here's a relatively recent article illustrating just that.

So once again I would like to stress that androgens evoke masculine characteristics.

As an extra side note, swimmers generally have broad shoulders. Even females. Interesting how we don't question them about their sexuality!



#4 Adam's apple
While it is true that we tend to see Adam's apples in men, they are not exclusively for males. Adam's apples develop due to (yes you guessed it) androgens such as testosterone. And indeed, it is a secondary sex characteristic.

Also, the enlargment of the larnyx (thus producing the Adam's apple) leads to a deeper voice. Michelle Obama's voice does not sound very deep at all. What does that mean? NOTHING! This argument is just correlational at best, and says nothing much about the sex of a person. Much like CJB's arguments.
*This was done just to illustrate that such vague connections cannot be used as IRREFUTABLE PROOF.

#5 Male external genitalia and the groin cup
Once again (ho hum) masculine secondary sex characteristics develop due to the influence of androgens. Yes yes, assuming that Michelle does indeed have an androgen overload, this is possible.

Is it likely? No. If she were to have THAT much androgen in her body to develop a penis, she will not look as lean as she is now. She would be more muscular and carry a hulking figure.

On top of that, CJB presented observations that when the wind blew, it appears to have folded and creased around the crotch. CJB implies that there is definitely a penis (or a penis guard) underneath.

This is a weak argument because it does not hold statistical significance (we don't see it in many other instances), and also that even the idea of creased clothing exposing a crotch-based appendage does not hold water. Clothes get creased all the time and get distorted. Anyone in relatively tight jeans will say that a phallic-like fold occurs at the crotch of the jeans when sitting down.

What does this tell us? We cannot make such inferences from such little pictorial evidence. Sure we can hypothesize, but there are many confounding factors. This argument is weak.



So where are we now?
As a whole, if Michelle appears to display such characteristics, it could be that she just happens to have slightly higher androgen production, which is actually not abnormal. We see plenty of girls who are hairy, or have thick eyebrows, etc., and this is the reason. That's all. Yup, that's it.



PHEW. That was a long scientific rebuttal.



Again, to summarize:
- Male physical characterics are due to androgens (hormones)
- A female can have those external characteristics if she has more androgens
- CJB's arguments are solely based on physical characteristics


I believe that at this point, I have shown that CJB's arguments are scientifically improbable and do not establish anything. Usually I would stop here as I have already stated my case.



But no. I would like to further my case by performing an analysis on the fallacies of the arguments and the person behind the arguments. Why? Because I feel it is also important to see how to discriminate between true or false.

4. FURTHER POINTS


1. It's only correlational evidence
CJB's main premise was that just because something appeared to be so, it HAS to be so. She failed to address any confounding factors and possible variations from the average.


2. Jumping to conclusions
Similar to the first point, CJB tends to jump to conclusion. Whether she prepared this in a script or whether she happened to say it at the spur of the moment, there are a couple of such instances.


3. No proper scientific evidence on CJB's part
I didn't hear CJB connect her observations to previous observations in science. After doing her measurements and showing us the pictures, she then concludes that this one observation itself is enough to establish this hypothesis. However, she never critically analyzed her own arguments.

She knew the basic scientific facts, then straightaway applied it to her observations, implying that her data was statistically significant. It's not. You cannot possibly conclude from such small deviations from the 'normal'.

Her grasp of the scientific facts were only true to a first approximation. Had she looked a little deeper, a number of the things she mentioned would not hold water if probed further

Here's an example:
CJB states that all the cells in one's body are the be all and end all. No amount of hormone therapy will be able to alter one's physical characteristics because the cells and their function are already set in stone.
I hope you can see that there are few layers of scientific misunderstanding in her words.


4. Trust me, I'm a.. forensic psychologist?
CJB also mentioned that she had lots of experience in forensic psychology, investigative skills, and encounters with transgenders. At the very least, she could have given us an explanation instead of just forcing the viewer to believe outright that her words are the truth!

Anyone can say anything he/she wishes. For example, trust me on everything I said so far. I'm a doctor. Now, you have every reason to doubt me. I may not be a doctor. In fact, I'm a murderer. No, I'm a cabaret dancer. However, in my looooooong essay, I have given cited evidence and linked things together by logic, which supports my alleged status, and also improves the reliability of the arguments presented.


5. Finally, let's take a look at our opponent's profile
As Kareem Carberry-Walters suspects, this CJB may not be who she appears to be. Other than some very well explained and succinct points (unlike my own, heh), it could very well be that CJB is staging this. There could be no 'husband', or even 'CJB' herself. It could be a man behind that voice. There are plenty of good software to change one's voice, and the results are quite convincing.

Also, take a look at CJB's other videos. One of the videos posted had a similar tune. It offers 'IRREFUTABLE PROOF' that Serena Williams is a man. I didn't watch it, but it would appear to me that CJB is a character who likes to spread controversy. Now, this casts more doubt on CJB's character and leads one to think how much CJB can be trusted.

I have already presented scientific evidence against CJB's claims and I have shone light onto the assumptions and fallacies that CJB has been going on about. If there is anything to save CJB at this point, it would be her reputation. Unfortunately, her profile appears to be a very shady one which would be a final stake in the heart about the story of CJB's arguments.

If you have read everything, I really appreciate it. I only write this much to provide strong points and evidence against CJB's fallacious ones, to further contrast what is wrong in her arguments.

There is little doubt about Serena having had butt implants, the before and after pictures are telling. It's not just that she has a huge butt, it's the fact that it happened nearly overnight. Did the women you banged suddenly sprout a huge butt over the course of a few months in their early 30s?

For Serena as well, it's not just about getting much bigger butt overnight, but also about the way that butt sits in relation to the rest of zer body. It's not the size of the butt that is unnatural, but the way it's disconnected from her torso and thighs. I'd go with the opinion of plastic surgeons as opposed to your personal testimony. Note as well that he/he's clearly also had breast augmentation, which blows the argument that she wouldn't have had plastic surgery that could impede her tennis performance.

The cognitive dissonance associated with this case is reinforced by the fact that the subjects are black, because, like for Obama, if you question basic facts about the Williams or BO, you are labeled a racist. It also puts more doubt into the general public in the interpretation of reality, like the fact that Obama looks nothing like his presumed Kenyan father, and is a spitting image of the man that shagged his mother and mentored him (note that Obama, much like the Williams, has also had plastic surgery -nose reduction for sure, and possibly, lip reduction-):




One of the most damning clues in the Williams brothers case is the fact that their father took them out of circulation for a long period when they were transitioning from preteen into mid/late puberty, where they must have received deep hormonal treatment and surgical sex change procedures. In every preteen picture of them they looked like boys in drag with girl hair and girl dress (not the case with Michelle Obama, who just looked like an ugly duckling dorkette).

Normally, the teen stage is a crucial period in the athletic development of tennis players, in a very technical sport where young talent can break through pretty early, it is pretty weird that their father took them off the circuit for that long a period. He did so because he knew that they would still physically overwhelm their competition post-op, more than making up for development time lost off competition.

No doubt about this. There are the reports of his classmates from Punahou HS to Occidental College, to his state senate Chicago days where he had coke-fueled romps with characters like Larry Sinclair and was part of the "down-low" Trinity United Church. Three of his presumed lovers (Donald Young, Larry Bland and Nate Spencer) were killed within the span of a few weeks in the early stage of Obama's presidential run. As well, there is also Reggie Love, who was to Obama what Huma was to Hillary.

The only trace of Obama girlfriend action is a lukewarm picture and presumed letter from a woman with globalist/UN background, and a brief fling with another woman from LA. Then there is the picture of him sitting very close to his Pakistani mate on a wide sofa, his hand intertwined with his... the body language confirms the testimonials of his Occidental U. classmates, who stated that they thought Obama and his rich Pakistani mate were an item. Here you have a fairly attractive, smooth operator, tall black dude in the Upper West Side near Harlem at Columbia, in 1970s So. California, and in Hawaii before that, yet his entire trail of women conquests in his late teens and 20s is paper thin.
