Omaha, Nebraska datasheet

This datasheet is for Omaha, Nebraska. I'm from the city and know the nightlife well. Omaha is a city of roughly 900,000 metro area. The city isn't small enough where people are open to meeting new comers for being new but also not large enough to have diverse activities to do. The ones who love Omaha have established social circles from high school/college years and I feel the city is cliquey.

Nightlife venues
The best venues in Omaha are all around the Old Market downtown. This is where the college students and young professionals in Omaha hang out. Some of the venues

The Hive: Perhaps the most popular venue at the moment, especially for the 21-25 crowd. Has a main dance floor with a couple bars. Fair warning the security is pretty SJW when it comes to picking up women, my friend got banned from there for that.

The Max: Only go on a Saturday night as it is a gay club but Saturday is straight night. Has two main dance floors and about 5 bars with back patio. Chicks here are pretty easy but the quality is hit and miss.

Whiskey Tango: Plays country/top 40/grind music. Great place to end the night on Friday or Saturday as it brings a lot of college chicks who look to end the night dancing

Some other venues to check out are Parliament, T-Henry's for bars with dance floors or 10th Street, Dubliner or O'Conners if you're interested in traditional bars. Everything I have listed so far is located in the Old Market.

Outside of the Old Market there is bars open in Benson and Dundee area, more hipster scene and probably not worth checking out if you are visiting Omaha for the weekend.
In middle-late June is the College World Series that brings baseball fans from around the country to Omaha. You can meet many a single women during this time.

The women
The women in Omaha are decent per capita. You're not going to see many 9's or 10's but you'll find a lot of friendly 7s. A lot of cute blonde chicks in Omaha. For SNL your best bets are the three main clubs I posted first.

Minorities
Not sure how well minorities do here. My friend who has solid game and is Indian complains he has a difficult time with the hot white chicks here where if he was in San Francisco or Chicago the women would be more open to him as a minority.

My verdict on Omaha is that it's a great city to grow up in or raise a family in due to low cost of living, it being safe, and other factors but it lacks in many ways for a bachelor male.

And now for the most important question: where do the offspring of Warren Buffett hang out?

Nightlife: I've spent a lot of time in Omaha over the years. Agree that the Old Market is the place to go. Was there a few months ago. Heard Benson area was happening, but if you're new to Omaha and just have a couple days then I'd definitely stick with the Old market.

Lodging: If you're looking for a hotel in the area then I'd highly recommend the Hotel Deco. As the name implies it has an art deco theme which is cool in my book. The rooms are large and stylish. It's in a good location - at the edge of the Old Market. Everything is within a 10-15 minute walk of the hotel, but they also have a free car service (Mercedes sedan), which will take you anywhere you want to go. (They're only supposed to take within a couple miles but tip them well they'll treat you right - take you wherever and will even wait around if not busy.) Also cool is that right next door is a place called Wicked Rabbit - a speakeasy place behind a hidden entrance - would fit right in as trendy place to go in any Tier 1 City.

Events: The CWS (College World Series) - runs for 10 days or so every June. Good time atmosphere. Thousands of people partying around the stadium (Rosenblatt) which is about a 10-15min walk from the Old Mkt. Highly recommended.

Food: its Omaha so you really can't go wrong with the steakhouses. There's place next to Hotel Deco that I went to on my last visit and it was really good - Sullivans? Blue Sushi, also in the Old Market, is good.

Extras: There's also riverboat casinos on the Iowa side - across the Missouri River - about 15 minutes from the Old Market. Unfortunately though, the booze isn't free and they stop serving around 1-1:30am.

Girls : Mixed bag. Decent looking but not great. Generally open/friendly. Rare to get blown out. Got laid last time I was in town so [Image: banana.gif]

Misc: If you live there and you get bored, you're only a 3hr drive from KC and maybe 5hrs from Minneapolis. Chicago and Denver are both only an hour away by plane.

Overall, a cool midwestern city.
