Lots of websites have been changing their user interface to be more mobile friendly, which is a pain when you are on a PC, rather than keep a mobile version of the site for mobiles devices they treat everything like everyone read on tablets or phones.

This is similar to what Microsoft did with Windows 8 and make a start menu a bunch of tiles, which is nice for tablets but not for PCs.
