Why do People Opt for Ukraine Rather Than Russia?

Maybe he was a troll but I didn't exactly see how the OP was over the top ridiculous.

I thought it was a valid question he posed... I love Kiev, and I've spent a lot of time there, however this forum does seem a bit too Kiev-centric.

People have stated:
- Visa
- Cost
- Weather

I've read a lot about 2nd & 3rd tier Ukraine/Russia... but it would be good to know more about how they compare...

I posted a couple of threads that discuss the differences between Ukraine and Russia in my earlier comment.

I was the first to give an answer about the comparison in this thread and presidentcarter's reply made me think what I said was not good enough points. But since then, it seems, like there is a general consensus by the rest of the users for the same points I made. And I never even been there yet! Somehow I also forgot the price factor and that should be obvious. Ukraine is actually one of the cheapest countries in the world even compared to Africa.

I had my doubts...

It is easier to land in the field of wheat than in Donetsk airport, the place lies in Ruins and is still regularly bombarded.

No it's obvious he took the train; I'm sure he triggered no questions or alarms when he, an obvious non-Westerner with a Turban, foreign passport, and ceremonial dagger bought a ticket to an ongoing war zone. He merely told the agents that, although there is a ban on foreigners travelling to area, he should be allowed to visit for several months because he needed to post an "awesome trip report" in the travel section to get "some mad rep points".
