Best New Metal Releases

I know we have a 'what are you listening to' thread but, brothers - seriously - we need a hardcore metal thread featuring the best new head banging eardrum busting releases. 2016 thus far is turning out to be an awesome year for metal fans. I'll kick things off with three of my favorites. FYI - I'm picking tunes here randomly. All the vids posted have brilliant/solid albums behind them.

Lamb Of God - their new album 'Sturm And Drang' is rock solid.

Omnium Gatherum - their new album is called 'Grey Heavens' - addictive all the way through.

Be'lakor - my favorite Ozzies are once again delivering hearing loss you can depend on.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eIZNb96EQJ8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> This forum is stuck in MyBB GoMobile I tried switching to the full version but alas it seems stuck in Mobile mode. Anyone else have this problem? Should also mention that when I don't log in to the forum I see it in full version mode but when I log in it switches to mobile mode and stays in it no matter what I do.

Brutal as all fuck. I'm a big fan of death metal.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

And so you should be!! Masculine music is completely under represented in this forum and I have no idea why.

Many of the problems ROK and forum members complain about could be easily fixed within a few weeks of daily exposure to death metal. It will change you and I'm not kidding about this. At the gym it pushes my adrenalin/testosterone by at least a notch or two. I'm in a total 'don't fuck with me' mindset whilst tearing through my supersets. Meanwhile guys half my age are kicking back on their workout machine or are trotting on their treadmill whilst staring at their mobile. I don't see the anger - I don't see any passion. And how could they listening to the feminized dance music crap that's being funneled into their ears at all public spaces?

Politics, the media, corporate environments, educational institutions all have already been high-jacked by the liberal agenda. And feminized music is now used to pacify the masses. All that lullaby you now hear in public spaces is intentionally chosen to put you in a civilized mindset. When's the last time you went somewhere and heard them play Jimmy Hendrix, Metallica, or AC/DC? It's increasingly rare in the U.S. and over here in Europe I cannot recall a single occasion.

Metal and Death Metal in particular represent some of the few remaining vestiges of pure unapologetic masculinity. The fact that this thread has only attracted a single response concerns me.

The core of the issue is that masculinity and thus by its extension 'masculine music' is considered offensive in Western society. Listening to metal and in particular death metal immediately labels you as eccentric or as a member of a fringe group.

Good stuff Redpillage. I especially liked that Omnium Gatherum tune. Will definitely have to check that album out.

I can't suggest or recommend any 'new' metal as I don't keep up with trends much these days, nor do I enjoy scouring through new releases trying to find something I like.
However, I will post some stuff I like ranging from posthardcore to deathmetal as I'd like to keep this thread going and potentially open up someone to the world that is 'brutal.'

I know that some awesome new Lamb of God as been suggested but I must recommend this album, Ashes of the Wake, as an excellent starter album for someone whose interested in checking out metal. A couple of my military buddies turned me on to this back when it was kind of new.

Glassjaw. One of my all-time favourite bands. More post-hardcore than metal. This track is more of a single but if you dig it, check out the album "Worship and Tribute."

I love progressive metal and these guys have been a favourite since I heard of them in 2008. Best listened to all at once, if you can handle it...

A relatively new genre that isn't quite metal, but isn't quite anything else.... They call it Djent. And Tesseract here, they do it well. Best listened to all at once, much easier to handle than the above.

I don't believe this to be 'true' death-metal but Arch enemy has described themselves as the blackest black metal. Full Disclosure, The vocalist is a woman.

If even one person likes just one of these tunes enough to explore the huge genre of 'metal' music, then I will have given back what has been given to me.
Can't wait to hear more recommendations.

As a Finn in the UK, metal has been one of the things I've missed most (aside from the quality of women). There is almost no metal "scene" here to speak of compared to Finland, where there seemed to be constant big and small gigs all around.

Not that new, but one of the better upcoming bands in melodeath in Finland.

Soilwork is always great.

A bit lighter, but still new(ish), Amorphis.

Testament has some decent stuff as well.

You do realize we already have a Heavy Metal thread, right?

That said, I definitely agree with you on metal being one of the last vestiges of masculinity in modern music. One of the reasons I so quickly fell in love with metal as a rebellious teenager was its stark contrast to the sappy, blue-pill crap that otherwise saturated the airwaves.

Even as a kid I remember flipping around radio stations and thinking, why does every single song have to be some saccharine love song? Isn't there more to life than pining over a girl?

Anyway, these aren't new releases per se, but here's a post from the Heavy Metal thread where I list some of my death metal favorites.

Oh shit - you must be suffering - my condolences. Finland as well as Sweden are heaven for metal fans. If it wasn't the fucking migrant invasion I'd be trekking up there for some concerts but as it is I'll give it a miss for now...

I take it you are familiar with Amon Amarth. They are one of my all time favorites and I should have included them in my original post:

BUSTED!!! Sorry, I didn't know - I actually did use the search function (in my defense).

Dude, you and I both. I was born with a bit of a rebellious streak myself and listening to pop lyrics just made me shake my head in disgust. Love love love this and you are so special that. No wonder bitches cope an attitude until you put them in their place.

Well, I hope this thread serves to point more forum members in the right direction.

I used to love heavy metal albums, but nowadays it all sounds even more identical than EDM.

Is there any heavy metal left out there where the singer doesn't sound like he has a hairball the size of a Buick stuck in his throat?

Pretty sure there is already a thread about metal music specifically but I'm not searching for it on my phone.

Anyway Meshuggah, Dillinger, Car Bomb, and Korn all have new albums coming out. This fall is one for the books. Also going to be Dillinger's last album.
