Good news: There will be a tampon dispenser in men's bathrooms at Brown University

According to Brown University, the science is settled. Women "aren't the only people who menstruate".

Brown University's student body president will be hand-delivering menstrual products to all nonresidential bathrooms on campus, including men’s rooms, with the help of 20 other students.
The initiative is intended to communicate the message that "pads and tampons are a necessity, not a luxury," and that not all people who menstruate are women.

If the Brown University fraternity were to play this right they could do something straight out of Animal House.

One day historians will look back upon this era and laugh their heads off.

The guys should throw these in the toilets and let them keep overflowing until the campus gets the message.

They fucked up on this.

They've taken a private place and used it to stage a social justice outcome. It's going to become the running joke of the campus. Invest in tampon stocks NOW.

If the male students wanted to troll the uni, they should lobby for urinals in the ladies' bathrooms.

I own tampons. They are in my medical kit as they make great lightweight dressings for serious wounds in rural settings. I do get the odd look when doing kit checks before expeditions though.

With it being at 'Brown' university, the first thing that came to my mind was they would be for men with diarrhoea to plug their arses with.

Feminists have been trying to do this shit for years, the only difference is that now they are being encouraged instead of shut down.

In the late 90's I opened a door for a girl on a campus who was carrying a big box of what looked like those mats you see at the bottom of urinals still in their packaging. I asked her why she had them, and she looked really embarrassed, and said that she was with the school Woman's Center, and that they were from a campaign they had tried that, she said, turned out to be a pretty bad idea.

I asked her what she meant, and she turned over one of the urinal mats, and written across it was

You Hold In Your Hands The Power To Stop Rape

She said that everyone, men and women alike, had thought it completely inappropriate and over the line, and she seemed genuinely chastened and couldn't get them into the dumpster fast enough.

I asked her if I could have a couple for souvenirs. (Did I mention they were sealed in their packaging?)

Feminists have been sending up little trial balloons like forever, and they have gotten enough push back in the past to keep a lot of their nonsense in check.

As they have grown in at least cultural power, everyone else has become afraid to oppose their various idiocies worried about losing their jobs or online and in real life shaming and shunning.

People don't want to speak up and for good reason, and unless large numbers of people make a point of keeping their trivial and insincere fantasies in check, don't look for it to end any time soon

Adding to this:

Gay cakes, tampons, and trans bathrooms: now those are the most important human rights issues of our time, surely.

This is a wonderful idea.

I think they should dispense tampons from the Financial Aid office. This way when students shit themselves when they find out how much this craptastic school costs and how much they owe....the shit will be relieved naturally.

The people who are going to learn the most from this little experiment are the janitors.

I'm sure there are still a few red blooded american males age 18 to 22 that go to Brown. I doubt they are all sofisticated gay hipsters.

At that age I would have stuck maxi pads all over the walls, plugged toilets with them, mixed ink and water and flung the wet tampons on the ceiling, etc.

Aloha!

Viet Nguyen, President of the Undergraduate Council of Students, announced the initiative in a campus-wide email Tuesday, saying he wants to communicate the message that not all people who menstruate are women, according to Newsweek.

I smell a sexually frustrated freshman who believes that “good deeds” will be compensated with vagina. He has a greater chance of meeting the Easter Bunny this weekend.
