Putin avoids possible assasination attempt.

At the behest of user "AManLikePutin" I'm posting this here in politics because none of the other threads really fit.

Russian media has revealed that a head-on crash in which a man was killed involved Vladimir Putin's official black BMW.
However the Russian President was not in the car at the time when it was struck head-on by another vehicle which crossed over from the opposite side of the road.
CCTV images of the footage taken on Kutuzovsky Avenue in the Russian capital Moscow show how the Mercedes collided head-on with the presidential BMW.

Russian media said that the car was being driven by Putin's favourite official driver, and that he was killed instantly, but that the President was not in the vehicle at the time. The car is officially registered as belonging to the Federation Council, also known as the Russian Senate or Upper Chamber of Parliament.

Medics arrived at the scene and said that the presidential driver had been killed on the spot, while the Mercedes driver who was travelling alone has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The driver who was killed was not named, although it was reported that he had notched up more than 40 years of driving experience as an official driver.
Police have only confirmed that they are investigating, without giving any further details.
The clean-up operation took several hours and a huge traffic jam formed when Kutuzovsky Avenue was closed after the crash.

Straight road. Sunny day. Smooth flow of traffic.

If this was an honest accident then we're talking lottery levels of coincidence here.

Definitely some nuts are going to be cut for this transgression.
Funny how there seems to be no assassination attempts on the main NATO heads of state (Erdogan counts?)

Same stuff (mysterious road "accidents" staged on perfectly good roads) happened with French Nationalist leader Stirbois, and Austrian Nationalist leader Haider...

You can even see the nice, round "non-explosive ammunition" impact on Haider's car...

As to Putin's car, it probably involves an intelligence service tampering with the computer of the other car, that subsequently rammed head-on into it...

I have little doubt that O..., nearing the end of his illegitimate terms (and desperate at Hillary's catastrophic health and incoming defeat - cause O... knows that Trump if and when elected will indeed prosecute him), would try a last evil deed: assassinating V. Putin, in particular, would be O...'s "golden watch" retirement gift. Maybe also a way of changing the course of the US elections at the last moment...?

I saw this story yesterday.

Forgive me, I don't know much about Russia's internal politics or how they do their security, but the story stinks to me.

Why would Putin allow to be driven around in an un-armored car like that one?

Why is his car allowed to be driven outside a motorcade?

Why is it that there are no security monitoring his car (The driver all by himself?) What if that guy betrays him and has a bomb fitted underneath?

I think that car belongs to his driver only. Someone like Putin moving around Russia that soft makes absolutely no sense to me. That tells me that he can be assassinated easier than it should be.

If Obama rode around the US on the ground like that, he would have been dead a long time ago. The Presidential Limo is literally bomb proof and could pretty much take an RPG hit.

This was probably not an assasination attempt. The government BMW is driving without additional escort and is not using the middle lane which is reserved for emergency and government vehicles, so I think it would be fairly obvious to anyone that there is no high ranking official in the car.

Not sure what to make of this. Car crashes are definitely one of the main political assassination methods. But it would seem very difficult to perform this one, and you need a kamikaze driver. Also Putin is known to be at the G20 right now.

^^^ TravelerKai has good point. I don't know that all heads of government move around with a massive motorcade the way the US president does, but I'd never expect Putin to be riding in an unescorted car.

On a side note, an interesting fact about Vladimir Putin - during the early 1990s, when he was working in St. Petersburg as deputy mayor and made a lot of political enemies, someone attempted to kill his wife in the exact same way - car crash. The perpetrators were never found.

I might postulate an alternative explanation:
Because Russia.

Some of the most fucked up videos I've ever seen on the internet is aftermath of shit that happens on Russian roads after some dude got sloshed on vodka and drove.

It might have been a dry run, then... next time they'll try to do it on the presidential car when actually used by Putin?

Or, more probably, it is a warning. A warning to Putin, from the globalists or O..., personally. The warning reads like that: "We might decide to assassinate you, Vladimir Vladimirovich, even though we usually don't do this shit between global leaders, but... you've been warned, don't hack anymore of Hillary's emails"

If that was even remotely true, that's playing with fire big time. The West should contain Putin/Russia, on all levels. It does no one any good to actually pick fights or attempt to intimidate him physically.

I see your point. But, I have a feeling that globalists are entering panick-mode. If indeed Hillary, as it obviously seems the case, is seriously ill, then Globalists' reactions will reek of despair and become unpredictable. Cornered evil animals have no logic or fear anymore.

The perspective of D. Trump getting elected, and easily elected at that, is I think about to send Globalists into very dangerous risk-it-all gambits. Like, killing Vladimir? I mean, Globalists have to start panicking, seeing Hillary incapable of talking, freezing, choking, collapsing... for them, Trump elected is the end of the World, so, in the next 2 months, they (the globalists) might do crazy stuff, start wars, kill leaders, whatever...

I hear ya, but Putin did not survive the KGB by being a mug. He outsmarted his own in a literal lions den. Self made men with that level of intelligence and skills are the wrong people to mess with. Maybe it's just me, but I would not take that risk.

Maybe he has done little stuff to Obama and we do not know about it. Either way, Obama and his gang started it, but I do not think they are smart enough to get away with it if they keep testing his patience. The bad thing about clandestine spats are that it carries over. Trump will be done no favors coming in and having to deal with smartassery. He's a smart ass himself and that makes for a poor start. US/Russian strategy needs a massive reboot in general.

I think the countries have more things they could collaborate on than antagonize each other over. This is not the 1970s and 80s. If Trump wins, he is going to have to think outside of the box and not listen to any holdovers telling him to continue the last two administration's US/Russian foreign policy. Otherwise, we will continue to have "manufactured tension" over basically nothing.

In completely unrelated news, a Russian fighter flew within 10ft of a navy plane today.

It's almost as if different forces were sending each other signals.

Maybe he want to go somewhere in a more private way like the french president:

Tell them too much, they wouldn't understand; tell them what they know, they would yawn.
They have to move up by responding to challenges, not too easy not too hard, until they paused at what they always think is the end of the road for all time instead of a momentary break in an endless upward spiral

A (most likely) drunk guy* drove into an official car. Even the mighty FSB can't protect you from sheer bad luck. Putin is thousands of miles away. This was not an assassination attempt.

The intelligence services are not the omniscient employers of all the world's ninjas, as some here are determined to suggest. Nor are they the kind of Chuckle Brother outfit that they would have to be, implicitly, were there to be any credence to the allegations that seem to be being made here with greater and greater frequency.

*The two times I have lived in Russia drunk driving was commonplace, and these guys are seriously bad drivers to begin with.

Why are foreign leaders rarely assasinated? Is it because they just have too much protection or is it because if one does it, then everyone will do it, sort of like mutual nu-cu-lar deterrence?

Their security has to be absolutely impregnable.

I remember in a backwater where i live, i happened to enter early into a venue where an important person was about to spend a night. His security sweeped entire place. They stood there until his arrival, and gorillas double checked everyone without particular detail. But what was fascinating is how many of his men who played the part of ordinary guests entered place. I knew it was them because i knew couple of them and their faces well. They would even bring girls with them and drink and have a party as usual, but they were his people who could be trusted and their part was to simply make up about 50% of guests, to make crowd management much more easier. Needless to say, they occupied all tables in his nearest vicinity, and just partied as everyone else. Well, also curiously scanning area now and then as well [Image: biggrin.gif]

^Great attention to detail, and a very interesting observation.

Did it cause the location to be a sausage fest, or were there female agents/wives/gfs there as well?
