Elderly chat scenarios on street

Hey!

I am doing street game 4 days a week, using the pet shop opener, followed by elderly chat. Right now, I am working on my rambling skills, being able to keep a conversation of about 2-3 minutes, if the girl is open to chat.

During my approaches, I noticed two things:

  1. The girl I want to talk to is talking on the phone. I can let her be, or still approach her, but I do think that, after she'll answer my pet shop question, she will prefer talking to her friend, rather to listen a stranger rambling. Finally, I decide to let her be;
  2. I follow the girl to the nearest red light. However, when we reach there, there place is crowded by other people also sitting at the red light, waiting to cross the street (10+ people). Here, I think it would be weird to go straight to her and approach her, so I'll wait for the next red light and hope there will be less people there.
Are there any better ways to handle these two events? (better = actions that result in an approach anyway)

Thanks.

1. Walk beside her as she's talking on the phone and wait until she hangs up. From then you can either a) chat her up and address something that you heard her talking about or b) you can follow to the nearest stop lights and chat up there, or c) stop messing around and just chat her up as if nothing happened.

2. When she stops don't do that big straight line walk up to her getting through the crowd. Think ahead. Make it so that you can stand right next to her on stoplights so that it's more natural to talk to her.

Don't sweat it too much. Most people around you are not even going to be paying attention. We all feel like the whole world cares about us and is watching, the reality is most people miss almost everything.

But XXL has a point, think strategically.

You have a point here. I don't care that other people sees me doing pick-up (actually, all they are seeing is a guy asking a girl for some information), I care for her not to think it's weird. Come to think of it, if I am coming from behind, she won't be seeing what I am doing.

I agree: great points by XXL.
