The new Netflix series Stranger Things is pretty interesting - paranormal/conspiracy show along the lines of Twin Peaks, set in the 1980s. Really nails the look and feel of the time period, IMO.

Finished this series over the course of 2 days, really enjoyed it.

The throwbacks to old 80's movies like Alien and The Thing are welcome as well as the similarities to the anime Akira.

I recommend Westside, a NZ tv show. Has anyone seen Black Sails? Is it any good?

Don't debate me.

Just started watching Hap and Leonard, new series on HBO.

Quote:Synopsis Wrote:

A seductive figure from Hap's past emerges with a plan to score cash in the series premiere of this drama about a friendship between a white laborer and draft evader and a gay black Vietnam War vet in 1980s East Texas.

Stars James Purefoy (who did an amazing portrayal of Marcus Antony in Rome), Michael K. Williams (Omar in The Wire), and Christina Hendricks (redhead vixen in Mad Men).

So far, what stands out most is the great dialogue and the chemistry between Purefoy and Williams. They truly feel like guys from two different worlds who's been through thick and thin together, all the while cracking hilarious racist jokes at each other. Hendricks is always nice to watch; those tits could feed a battalion of newborns.

I'm watching a show called Outcast. So far it's pretty good. Some good performances.

Kyle Barnes has had a series of misfortunes in his life; his mother would beat him as a child and he was accused of attacking his own daughter. After attending an exorcism in his native town, he is convinced his mother and his wife were possessed and he was not the source of them going bad. He therefore teams up with Reverend Anderson to try and save people that are possessed by demons while putting up with the residents of his town who think he's bad news and would deserve to be in jail.

Posted this in the forum lounge before, but the first season of Hannibal is phenomenal. That's as much as I would watch though.

Bosch looks pretty good, cheers. I'm a big fan of Titus Welliver and anyone that was in The Wire.

Fargo season 1 was well worth a watch. The second series is okay but didn't have me hooked like the first.

Vikings is another I've enjoyed a lot, once you get past the gender pandering by having female Vikings going to battle. [Image: dodgy.gif]

I don't watch much television, but the HBO series, The Leftovers, is the best series I've watched in three years. Season Two is especially good, but Season One was difficult for many people to understand and get used to.

If you decide to watch it, two rules apply: (1) Don't binge watch. The show's effectiveness drops by at least a factor of ten if you just roll all of the episodes together. (2) Even if you hate Season One, get up to the episode entitled "Guest". If you're not especially moved by the fate of the title character in this episode, then you'll never be moved by anything in the show, in which case you should stop watching.

White Collar on Netflix is a great series. Its about a professional con man and a FBI agent teaming up to solve white collar crime. Really enjoy this one.

Spartacus is a great series as well. I believe it is still on Netflix. Anyone who still hasn't watching this is doing themselves a disservice.

Lastly, Avatar The Last Airbender is one of my favorite series of all time. I would recommend that to anyone regardless of age.

I like Black Sails -- my signature is a quote from the show. The gay thing pissed my off but the show is solid and the gay shit didn't matter last season.

Just watched "Harley and the Davidsons", a Discovery channel production about how Harley Davidson started.
It's got great production value and set design, period costumes and setting, everything looks legit.
This first episode was great, I think the whole mini series will be a great watch.

I have been watching Mad Men. Great acting and script, but it is like Deadwood it has no solid plot. I assume people like it because of nostalgia.

Just finished watching Torchwood and I'm on season 7 of the new Doctor Who. So much progressive propaganda it is painful at times. Great soundtrack though, it's good that somebody is taking the time to produce serious orchestral music.

I'm really liking Atlanta, though it is a bit slow paced. No stupid humor, and it actually feels kind of real. Not what I was expecting from Donald Glover.
