Ideally, a man should have a combination weight training, flexibility (can be Yoga), and also some cardio. I'd also add that it never hurts to learn a self-defense martial art as part of an overall package. I will say this much: For the two months I've been doing yoga, I've certainly been sleeping better, and my flexibility is certainly better. Also, when I'm in an hour long class, my clothing is soaked with sweat. Some of those advanced poses will make your muscles shake to maintain the pose.
I met a 72 year old Spaniard in class the other day. Dude is muscular and toned as they come for this age. Says he's been doing it for years. Who am I to argue with what my eyes see? For the men who knock yoga, they ought to try it first. Believe it or not, yoga was founded by men many years ago. It wasn't until recent times that women decided to get in on the practice. Oh, and I've met some nice, feminine women via class. The instructor is a bit of a loon, but who cares?
I'm the only guy in a class of 20 very attractive women. I haven't even tried to game any of them, yet they are friendly and receptive to talking. A man who isn't afraid of people thinking "what is a man doing in a yoga class?" can leverage that considerably. If I find a girl I like there, so be it. If not, I'm still getting one hell of a workout.
