Also, I will say in way of follow-up that after the little scare with the false accusation I did two things. 1) I picked up an insurance policy aimed at protecting management from the shenanigans of employees accusing them of rubbish like sexual harassment with the policy reimbursing me for legal costs and 2) I met with attorney and set up a PLLC so that if I did find myself kicked to the curb I could hit the ground running with a private corp. Right now I'm looking for the right CPA to set things up financially prudently. Overall, I think that the experience was a swift kick in the balls that not only is teaching me to wear a fucking cup to protect myself from these things but to grow and emerge stronger from them by setting myself up to harvest other streams of income and protection. No rocket science. But just a shot of adrenaline and motivation.

Don't sell yourself short. Many smart men have failed to take those steps and paid dearly for it.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

Something just stuck me. I think it's time to get the Solzhenitsyn books off the shelf that I haven't read since High School and take a new look. Maybe we really are living in the Soviet Union when good productive people have to employ these tactics to keep a job.

Gentlemen, greetings.
In my own personal interest to stop over-analyzing and start doing alluded to in the Newb section, I may as well stop my lurking and start contributing to you gentlemen here and now.

A little back ground. I am not one for internet, blogs and forums and such. I found this one, and its helped me immeasurably through the last 6 months as I've been laid up due to a motorcycle injury not to feel so alone in one of the SJW epicenter cities on the west coast. So gratitude. And though not as witty as some of you 'gents, forgive me; I'm 40 and had a very direct hands on type of career in the military, not much computer training; so no witty gifs and such.

But, as my user name apparently alludes to, and as others in this thread suggest techniques you should use to not incite the ire of reactionary antagonists, the HOW to blend into your own hostile environment is paramount. May I first start with some topics unrelated directly to this thread, but that may have some interest to some of you? This contribution has its roots in a PM I sent one of you that commented in this thread to further your own goals, possibly. But then said fuck it, may as well post the content, as it's educational and I have to start somewhere.

I personally know and have lived with some of the people represented in this documentary. That's where I starting my own personal awakening and understanding of not just visceral topics represented in this forum, which admittedly is fun to live and read about here (lived in Las Vegas for over ten years after all) but overall knowledge useful to the aware man and how we got 'here'. The incongruousness of ideals vs. actions of state and citizen alike personally experienced as a .gov entity made me confused as a younger man about why I was being asked to hurt people in far away lands, for god, king and country right?...but to my admitted shame loving the adventure that went along with the specialty; so I didn't question.

So my interest is to give back a little as an older guy, some perspective, to good questioning men, in a small way. The understanding of how we got here, as some younger men may want to understand the back story if you will, if not already exposed. More to come if interested.

Thanks guys for helping a middle age lion not feel so alone.

The US academic system is much more dangerous than the EU equivalent. As a public institution, the power of administration is strictly curtailed. Students, of whatever political persuasion, are expected to engage in politics. That provides breathing space.

In the US, private institutions can and do retaliate with impunity. The best policy is to shut up. This seems counter-intuitive, especially given that education should facillitate rational and independent thinking. But I have realised, with some regret, that silence is the best approach.

Employee Practices Liability Insurance has been in use by management types for at least the duration of my professional life. Today, that kind of policy will keep you from getting financially wrecked, but an accusation that "goes to trial" will very likely tarnish you for good, even if it is completely disproven. The SJWs will amplify a few words they disagree with into a damaging complaint, so in a way it is true that you have to conceal yourself.

In my situation, I am told that the allegation has been dismissed as unsubstantiated, but the whisper campaign continues. I directly overheard a conversation today that confirms it. If our leadership were serious about handling the situation, they would squash any rumors outright, but that will not happen.

Right, many experts in employment law state that if a complaint goes from informal to formal stage, especially if it looks like it will go to trial, then it's time to move on unless you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that your leadership is behind you. Unfortunately, leaders are less and less likely to back their staff if it's whispered that they did something that could be perceived as racist, harassing, or (insert term) -phobic.

As an update, things have gotten far worse, far more quickly than I could have guessed. I should be able to discuss details at some point, but for now just a few notes:

- Should have quit when I had the opportunity instead of trying to squeeze out a few more months. That decision was based on a flawed understanding of the situation.

- The "institution" will fabricate stories from whole cloth if necessary to tear you down.

- False accusations are extremely difficult psychologically. I have been through many high stress events, and this is nearly the worst. Without a couple trusted friends for support, it could become a very dark situation.

My experience: Recently I was almost kicked out of my college. Literally guys. My college is the scariest place on earth for men. My college is essentially just an insane asylum for violent career women...
