BTW, hated to use chopsticks, will use knife and fork to the end.

Knives are just more handy. I always have a knife on me. I use it to cut cheese and a stick of meat of some sort for lunch, with a loaf of bread I tear pieces off of. I use it for everything else throughout the day too. Anything else is unnecessary weight.
For dinner, if it's not soup, I use a fork and a knife I don't put down. I use the knife to move food to the fork if need be, but always have the knife in hand. I never thought about t, it's just habit.

It's funny how the framing of the question tends to constrain the answers.
Obviously, it's best to use Fork, Spoon, and Knife. All three are necessary. This is why sporks are such an abomination. They are poor at being spoons, and poor at being forks, and obviously both are necessary.

In reality though I think its just because chop sticks are easier and cheaper to make, so any rice-plowing peasant can make one from a bit of wood.
To be fair, Western peasants were probably just as low down the pecking order as the Oriental peasants. Yet they worked out that if you start with a bigger bit of wood
you can just as easily fashion a wooden spoon or fork.
Personally I enjoy eating off wooden plates.

Re: scissors, they can actually be pretty handy. One of my exes would use my kitchen shears to cut up our homemade pizza, first time I ever saw that done. Works like a charm.
I usually just use a big chef knife to slice up pizza these days. Those rolling pizza cutters are bullshit.

Is fast food uncivilised? Don't need a fork or knife for those.

I got raised using a fork and knife, but got into the habit of using a form to put the food in the spoon, then bringing the food to my mouth using the spoon. Knife is only used to eat steak.
I still prefer eating with my hands. Nothing better than eating rice with your bare hands. When nobody's looking, that's what happens.
Otherwise I enjoy chopsticks in most situations.

Chopsticks are annoying as fuck. They're simply an inferior tool. The only positive is that someone who can use them very well has gained significant dexterity in order to do so.
I actually am a big fan of spoons. I prefer to cut up all my food into bite-size portions and then use a spoon to eat them (or a fork). I don't want to sit there and pick up the knife over and over and cut before each bite. It's more efficient to cut it all up at once and then enjoy each bite without delay.
I don't mind using a fork and do so when it's required, but if it's more efficient to use a spoon, I'd rather use a spoon.
I guess I'm a fan of each tool for it's best purpose.

Hands are the most natural, R-selected and Alpha way to eat.
If you use forks, knives, spoons or chopsticks you're effectively being cuckolded by the utensil. The food's been penetrated multiple times by strange utensils and you still opt to eat it? Have fun eating your Alpha fork's leftovers you cucks.
