By the way, he was a true cocksman. Here's a small list of his bangs... Carmen Electra, Vanity, Sheana Easton, Kim Basinger, Ananda Lewis, Sheila E, Apollonia, and Misty Copeland. RIP Prince.

I might have posted this before, but the one who he supposedly didn't get was Susanna Hoffs. He wrote that Manic Monday song, let her have it and make a hit out of it, because he wanted to bang her, then she ended up rejecting him.

Prince was the kind of talent that, even if you weren't into the music style or personality, you have to respect the talent. I know tons of rock fans who were blown away by his superbowl performance or his version of guitar gently weeps. I'm mostly a country fan and I think the guitar solo from Purple Rain is as tastey as anything else ever played on a telecaster. I've always wanted to hear it done on a pedal steel, I've found a few covers but nothing well done.

Prince was a once in a generation talent who transcended genres. Music fans of any genre can appreciate Prince's talent. RIP.

The same thing people were wrongly saying about Bowie.

How can he be "original all the way" when he was product of the postmodern era? His style and persona(s) was an amalgam of different influences and had everything to do with those that came before him (or alongside him): Chuck Berry, Little Richard, James Brown, Elvis, Hendrix, Sly Stone, Michael Jackson, heck even the Sting. Not to mention little influences he picked up from performance/art history, as well as countless characters he encountered on the streets (especially early on).

I realize we may get somewhat emotional and hyperbolic when our faves depart, but let's try to keep things in perspective.

Did he drown in semen? That's bad.

How do you die of the flu these days?

Most likely he had aids, and died of complications from that(probably refusing treament as a jehovas witness didnt help either) Thing is he was a very private guy so it was probably not well known.

I've been asked to speak at his funeral. This is as far as I got with the eulogy so far:

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today..."

Take care of those titties for me.

For real, Prince was the "Studio Killer" waaaay before the internet. He could write, perform, record, produce, remix and control all aspects of his sound at a time when other artists relied HEAVILY on production houses to create their sound. Prince is a legend RIP.

Damn just heard.

Saw Prince play live twice in the 90's, once at Wembley Stadium and once at Wembley Arena with the New Power Generation. Awesome gigs, awesome artist.

First Bowie now Prince, two geniuses gone too soon.

RIP

Dammit. Prince taught me to drum with the precision of a metronome, how to layer harmonies, and what 9ths and 13ths were. For a hugely-commercial force in the 80's, he was an incredibly-experimental artist.

Maybe Bi, but he has been rumored to have AIDS, perhaps why he refused most medical treatment and supposedly died from the flu.

Prince has a sick solo in the second half of that video. I was never into him prior to that but when that video came out many years ago, my respect for his skills went way up. I know legit talent when I see it. That said, I've been meaning to go through his catalog and see what he is all about beyond the big hits.

Damn shame. 57. Fuck.

It's days like today that I'm harshly reminded to not always live for tomorrow.

Petty and Lynne needed to shut up with those useless harmonies during his shredding. Dope solo

I bet his friend, mentor, and spiritual inspiration, Larry Graham (69), never thought he would outlive Prince.

Rumor had it that he has AIDS and eventually refused further treatment. It looks like he was terminal, but no one expected him to go this quickly.

RIP man. Great music, great look, he's one of the reasons why the 80s fucking rocked.

I don't get why people say he "died too young."

He had lived a full life, achieved things that the vast majority of men can only dream of and was pushing 60.

Being alive simply for the sake of being alive is not a mindset I understand.

He was a serious Jehovahs Witness, he even went door to door to proselytize as the faith demands. He may have had health issues due to refusing certain medical procedures. I had questions on the USMLE about what to do if JW followers come for treatment and refuse care or try to refuse care for minors. If that's the root of his medical issues , it is a shame.

If Prince showed up at my door to talk about religion, I would say he could talk to me if he had some bizarre story about banging groupies that might help improve my game.

However, really the lesson there is to be great at what you do to attract groupies in the first place.

He was 57, if healthy could keep touring for another decade or 2 if he could still perform at a high level. Bruce Springsteen is 66 and still touring for example
